I read you can put a 200/60 16 Metzler on the rear of a Standard Valkyrie. Do you have to do the nut cage mod,,, cut the cages off and shorten up the bolts so it will not rub. On another post I read someone only modified one side when going Darkside, if I have to do one side, which is it? Sorry Darksiders, still want a MC tire.

Bill, you may get away with nut cage mod to only one side, and you may not. The tolerance stack-up is that close. Best advice to just do the nut cage mod to both sides and be done with it, then you won't have a nice new tire with a gouge in it  tickedoff
I did not have to shorten the bolts on mine. They came out just flush to the nut. Your experience could be different. As I said, the tolerance stack is slight, but enough to cause grief in surprising ways.
BTW, I liked the looks of my 200/60
I am a peg grinder, and didn't like the slower transition form side to side.
It'll definitely make your Valk's butt look bigger!  2funny

First time Darksider here. 98 Tourer..went with a Falken 512 205/60/16 $73 delivered from Direct Tire.
I have over 600 miles on it and don't see much difference, however the tire is inclined to follow irregularities in the road surface. It is somewhat like what the old ribbed tires used to do. Not a big deal but something to be aware of. I do the nut cage mod as soon as I get a Valk. I HAVE NO RUBBING.
The clearance on the drive shaft side between the swing arm and the tire is pretty tight but no rub. Haven't measured it but  probably 1/4-1/3 inch. I'm not going back to a bike tire! BTW a 11,000 mile Metzeler on the front.

It is a simple fix that doesn't pose any problems. Can be an odd feeling cutting away a piece of your bike I guess. But always do the nut mod when you're going to a car tire. It's best in the long run.
