Just spoke to Dennis, to quote him, "Doing well, still sucking wind.". Said he's currently moving into a "Senior Facility" but doing well. Said he didn't need that big ole house any longer. Hopes to be back on line in a week or so.

Evidently it wasn't a computer issue but an Internet issue, and a something got knocked loose and he couldn't get it hooked back up.
Should have stable Internet back when he's moved into wherever he's moving to.

Ok, but I have a Lenovo work station with a 1tb drive ready to go to someone that needs it. I found it in a closet that I was cleaning up. I bought it a year ago for a great price and will ship it to him should he need it. Hay Jimmyt |

Hay Jimmyt Sending a Win10 machine just isn't a good idea anymore. Microsoft is ending support shortly, and I would get at least Win11, or, maybe change to Linux if he could handle it. if you still want to send the Win10 machine - do the check on it to see if it CAN be upgraded to Win 11 - The availability of a TPIM 2.0 chip is the biggest issue for most upgrades - no TPIM - no Win11. If you do send it - he won't get updates very much longer for it. Serk can probably give you more details, but I think that probably covers majority of the issue. |

I despise Windows 11 with a burning passion and have upgraded my recently purchased high end gaming laptop from the Windows 11 it came with to Windows 10. (Or you can pay Microsoft for extended support if that's more your speed... Or Linux for the desktop is a viable option as well of course.) |

I'm still using win pro 7 on my home computer. win security still updates because win 10 is still supported. have micro browser turned off and just use monzilla firefox. 99.99% I don't use google. so I always wonder if there is a benefit of apple over win 11 or whatever number they are up to now? thanks. |
