So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

cooldude Was thinking the other day about where it might be. Knew it'd be west of the Mississippi. I'd like to see an AR InZane!  smitten

Yay, I was right AR!  smitten

Well, that works for me but, I haven't seen much of a clue to come to that conclusion.   But, maybe I missed something.  Oh yeah, BUMP.

I believe the answer is when the staff finally get a signed contract.   Which, they really don't control.
Of course, my offer to host fell on deaf ears.   Wink

Ok... eliminate everything outside of the U.S. and all states that border the Pacific Ocean.

Excellent!   There are places I have no intention of ever spending any time or money in.

I suspect somewhere that won't be extremely hot and moderate humidity.   The elevation of the selected area could make a significant difference in both of those.   Twisty and curvy roads to ride are also a consideration.   While I do intend on attending, I do hope it's not west of the Continental Divide but even if it is, I'll still try.   I have my own suspicions but the clues aren't specific enough.   I'll wait on the smart kids to work on this.   I'm seriously looking forward to this gathering of friends and family.

Rams cheers
Come on now Rams, Southern Alberta is nice that time of year, ride through the badlands, up into Waterton/Glacier. There is a chunk of straight flat that is 20 miles long to open up and clean the carbs. You can take the Crowsnest home via Washington and the PCH. Either way, this Crazy Canuck gets an extra week of vacation this year, I'll be there, wherever there is.

I am all the way out in Tampa, FL. I'd like to make it out there sometime but I'm thinking this is going to be a bit far for me to ride. Do some of you fly out there?  Smiley

If the next Inzane ends up in Colorado it's good that it will be mid-week. Traffic has become much heavier along I-70 in just the last few years, especially on weekends. Pavement is crumbling too, as the governor and legislature hate cars and have been siphoning off much of the road budget for bike paths and mass transit.

Utah has replaced Colorado as my favorite state for riding. Light traffic, great pavement, and spectacular scenery make it a riding paradise. Due to the Mormon culture it can be difficult to find an adult beverage in many locations. But while stopping for ice cream while riding home from the Johnson City Inzane in 2007, another VRCC member remarked 'Harley riders stop at bars; Goldwing riders stop at Dairy Queens'.

I'd happily see it in Utah, I'd love to ride those southern desert roads. Been a long time since I've seen the Valley of the Gods and Monument Valley, but sadly no hotels anywhere near by.

Fayetteville, AR!! Great roads, some Rte 66 portions close, you could have a great deer/wild hog cook-out.  Amazing roads that are never straight in any direction.....just saying.

Yes, Westen Canada does have some beauteous riding opportunities.  The reason we avoid Canada for InZanes is the complexity of crossing from the U.S. to Canada while carrying personal protection.  We would lose a lot of attendance over that issue.

I was just there last month for Bikes, Blues, and BBQ in Rogers and Eureka Springs. The riding is beautiful there. The photo below is of the Mulberry River about a mile off of the Pig Trail.

The 2012 Inzane in Eureka Springs had unusually hot weather. I still loved riding the area so much that I've returned 4 times.

Guess it depends on your vision of nearby. There are hotels at Monument valley and some within 40 miles of VOG. Nothing to hold a convention at tho. We visit SE Utah quite a bit. Bluff UT has a resort we stay at.

Moab has lots of restaurants and hotels, including some very large ones. It even has bars, which is not a given in Utah. It's only minutes from two national parks, and close to several spectacular rides, including a few in Western Colorado. It's a very popular destination for motorcyclists, off-roaders, campers, and cyclists. In fact, it's the only place I've seen where 'no bicycles in room' is added to the usual 'no smoking and pets' hotel check-in agreement.

A downside is that rooms are expensive during peak seasons. And Arches National Park can get crowded.

Here's UT-128 along the Colorado River just east of Arches. Note the light traffic!

Choice Hotels are nearly everywhere, so I'm sure there's usually one nearby. Of the 9 Inzanes I've attended, most have been held at Holiday Inns. That includes Frisco (twice), Johnson City, Spearfish, and Dubuque. Most of the others have been at older properties that appear to have been originally owned by a large hotel chain. I don't think there's any pattern, other than management willing to put up with a bunch of old bikers!

For those guessing Utah, that was eliminated with the clue, "The intended site is in a state where InZane has previously been held."

As for a new clue, oZ attended InZane in this particular state, but Serk did not.

Gale passed in February of 2022.  It was during the Covid-19 pandemic as that is what took his life.

But there were a couple of InZanes that oZ did not attend during his lifetime.

I recall one IZ, might have been the first Michigan meeting, he walked up and took one look at some lighting I had for the extra gauges I had mounted. He squeezed my arm, pointed at them and exclaimed "holy shxx". I guess he was impressed since he called out to a few others standing nearby to come look. Never forgot that interchange.  Smiley

Adjusted for the "west of the Mississippi" clue.

2001 - Zanesville, OH
2002-  Zanesville, OH
2003 - Zanesville, OH
2004 - Paducah, KY
2005 - Paducah, KY

2008 - Johnson City, TN
2009 - Frisco, CO
2010 - Bellaire, MI
2011 - Bellaire, MI
2012 - Eureka Springs, AR
2013 - LaCrosse, WI
2014 - Asheville, NC
2015 - Spearfish, SD

2017 - Billings, MT
2018 - Roanoke, VA
2019 - Taos, NM
2020 - Asheville, NC
2021 - Athens, OH
2022 - Billings, MT
2023 - Roanoke, VA
2024 - Dubuque, Iowa
2025 - Lewisburg, WV

So, if my high school geography hasn't failed me, we're down to these possibilities:

Frisco, CO
Eureka Springs, AR
Spearfish, SD
Billings, MT
Taos, NM
Dubuque, Iowa

Heh, now that I've had some sleep I was about to narrow it down too, thanks!

Taking the above, and using "Serk has attended IZ in that state" as a disqualifying factor (Which admittedly I might be reading too much into the hint), the remaining possibilities are:

Colorado
Arkansas

My guess is Arkansas, a rather easy drive for the elders for sure...whomever they might be. Roll Eyes Generally around 800 miles to the nothern border. The last one in Arkansas was in 2012 and since I was recovering from a major heart attack at the time I was unable to attend. The good Lord saw fit to keep me around so, heart attacks not withstanding, if it's in Arkansas this time I'll be sure to attend.
