I see a few Valks running what looks like a sport bike tire. What size is used? How do you compensate with Speedo? Anything  available for the rear? Smaller tires would lower it without losing shock travel. Should handle better. I know gear ratio would need changing. Cost about equal to 11.5's. Do we have Fat tires for the styling or what?

Just a few things for you to consider. First, what bike do you have....Interstate or other model? If an I/S with the elec. impulse for the speedo, then you can compensate by installing a SpeedoHealer...about $110 and involves some rewiring on the input side to the speedometer. But, with a smaller front tire you're having an effect on the handling. As for the rear, a lower profile tire is possible...many of us run a car tire with a lower profile, which increases the engine RPM at any given speed, not by much however. You won't find anything available in gear changes to compensate for the smaller tire in back.

Keep in mind lowering the bike for any reason means less available lean angle thus slower maximum cornering speeds.

There is a young lady who hovers in the Big Bike Riders.

I posted a note for her.

I have a Shinko 150/70/17 on the front.  It is actually a rear tire but handles very well.  My darkside 205/55/15 lowers the rear just a bit.  I doubt I would want it any lower.  The front wheel handles the speedo and mine is off but I seldom look at it anyway.

I use a 120/70/17 on the front.  It makes the bike lower and it handles quicker.  I run a stock Avon on the back, and I have stock shocks.
