InZane XXVI
Location: Eureka Springs, AR.
Dates: June 1-5 (Early Bird cook-out May 31).
Registration will open in January.

For those of you remembering the unbearable heat when we were there before, please consider that was in mid-July with unusually high temps.  First week of June should be perfect weather.  rider

Good choice. I was just there in October for Bikes, Blues, and BBQ. There's great riding all over the area. And even during that very large motorcycle event the roads weren't too crowded. So in early June we should have the place to ourselves!

I remember the heat in 2012. But getting there through Kansas and Oklahoma was even hotter, with temps well into triple digits. So when I got to Eureka Springs it actually felt good!

The day before I stopped early in Russell, Kansas because the heat was so unbearable. I hit the road before sunrise the next morning to get a few hours of relatively cool riding. And I wasn't alone, as I saw dozens of motorcycles on I-70 even though it wasn't even 6 AM yet.

Many years ago my parents retired to Mountain Home which is just under 100 miles east of ES on highway 62. Not sure I'll visit their old house, too many memories...most not good. Dad gave the house to my sister & hubby after my stepmom died, it was on one condition in writing; he was to live out his life in that home, and they were to never encumber it with loans or unpaid taxes. I was there for dad's funeral and my bro-in-law had already made a mess of the place which was hard for me to accept, I've never gone back as a result of the letdown. My sister died a number of years ago and her husband remained in the home, I never attended her services mostly because she was a thorn in my side her entire life. Dad died a pauper, mostly due to her handling his finances. Like I said...too many memories and I know there's many other places to visit in Arkansas so, health permitting, I look forward to another good rally with old friends.  cooldude

This will be by far the closest Inzane to me since I started attending, and a location I've not been to on a bike before.

We went when I was a child, saw the Christian play there, and got a helicopter tour around the big Jesus statue.

Hope the creek doesn't rise and all that other stuff, look forward to riding around the area.

I’ve been across Arkansas a number of times but it has always been with the hammer down to get where I was going and and then back home the same way, but never on a motorcycle. I’m remembering how fast last years event seemed to come after the announcement of the location and with the current weather being as it is, that feels like a good thing! I’m thinking I need to do a better job of planning and preparation this year as I told my buddy Rams, I need to smell some roses along the way and maybe even take a few pictures.

So many great people in this group and I hope to reconnect with a bunch of you.

Ok, submitting my idea for a charity event (again).

Rent one of those Dunk Tanks, Staff and other volunteers offer up themselves as targets for the Dump Tank.    Heck I’ll even volunteer to follow Staff though I am not sure anyone will be interested in seeing me all wet in my long John’s (the ones with the missing rear flap).
Oh yeah, Bump.

Their website doesn't seem to be working, but ABC-Bounce in Eureka Springs says they offer dunk tank rentals...

+1 479 244 1366 shows to be their phone number if one were so incline to inquire as to if they're still around and cost and such.

An excellent suggestion and chances could be sold to raise funds for the designated charity. I’ll volunteer to sell tickets and hold the money!

John,

Although the fine print hasn’t been posted at this point, I feel it is only fair to let you know that on this particular event, the holder of the money is required to pay the initial expense of rental and then hope that the return gets him his money back plus some. All in favor respond appropriately

Coming down from Canada again for sure. Got the 6th week of leave this year from the military. Might even make it for set-up this year. Planning the trip down, and got to say with a little know how on making spreadsheets and maps from Comma Separated Value lists Co-Pilot (Microsoft AI) does a not bad job of providing good routing, including optimized fuel stops by cost (apparently gas in Illinois is way more than neighbouring states), and some cool Rte 66 stuff along the way. That being said, a couple of questions for the group:
  • Anyone that carries care to show a Canadian at the Hobb State Park or other range, what I'm missing? Rounds on me.
  • Anyone from the South Bend IN, St Louis MO, or Joplin MO, area that wouldn't mind hosting me for a night on my way down? Thinking South Bend on the 28, St Louis 29, and Joplin 30. Given that I'm riding 500km  Grin Grin a day a little 1/2hr to 1 hr detour off that routing won't ruin the trip.
  • I know, I know, I said a couple of questions, but last one, where-ever we are for hotels, I'm open to sharing a room, I'll pay, you can reimburse me.

I'll bring the maple syrup, cheese curds and gravy, you bring the freedom fries.

Rams I'm quite certain we've met. I was at Lewisburg last year and in Dubuque. Last year I had the big Canada flag on my bike most of the week. I generally avoid public ranges, but if ya' wanna dip down a bit to Texas we can go out to my land and you can play with a few of my toys... Few I just recently (legally!) modified are particularly fun...

Not a bad Idea at all Serk,  I'll take it into consideration. Texas is a great place to ride as long as you avoid the concrete highways in Dallas during torrential downpours, they get a little slick.

Beautiful area to ride.  Just a short day ride for me.  If I can make it I'll probably ride the HD.  Would that be frowned upon or would it just give all the HD haters fodder?
