Anyone plan on participating in 2026?

https://motorcyclegrandtouroftexas.com/

The purpose of the tour is to explore and experience the great state of Texas on your bike. This should be a fun exploration on your bike, not a grueling ride. This is a self-guided, Grand Tour. It is not a race and it is not a 1,000 mile a day event. Texas has fascinating history, great roads to ride, varied geographic regions, cool towns to explore, and many nice folks to meet.

Make it to 25 of the tour stops to qualify as a Tour Finisher (in accordance with the rules for participation) and earn a patch. More details are in the 2026 Rules for Participation. The tour lasts until November 15th. So, folks can spend time exploring, seeing the sights, and experiencing all that our great state has to offer.

The tour is open to all brands of motorcycles (two wheeled and three wheeled), as long as the vehicle does not have a steering wheel and/or is not designed for an operator and passenger to sit side-by-side. The tour is not open to cars and autocycles. Motorcycles with sidecars are allowed.

Participants in the tour will visit tour stops that include roadside attractions, historical sites, memorials, unique geography, and biker friendly businesses that sponsor the tour. Our great sponsors help make the tour possible.

I am going to register for it.  Thought about it for 2025, but didn't make the time.  I will ride more in 2026.   Grin

I did as well.  Planning on picking up my flag in Kerrville on Feb 21 and knocking out Leakey, Bandera and Waring that day (weather permitting!).   Mid Feb in Texas could be 75F or 30F with ice!

See you guys in Kerrville on Feb 21st! Kinda wish they would just start mailing flags immediately -- this beautiful January weather would be perfect for knocking out some of those spots.

I agree, be much better if the Flag Number could be assigned when you register and we could get cracking on it.

That said, it was chilly here this morning, 38F and the north wind was a-blowin'.

I had to be in San Antone by 10am and I layered up for the ride.  Full disclosure: the Valk was left in the  garage - took a bike with a full fairing and heated seat / grips.  Such a wimp...

My son and I have both registered. I'll be the one on the Valk, he will be on the Triumph. See you around the state!

Excellent!

One week until flag pick up in Kerrville.  I've heard the line can be long.  Not sure if I'll head over there early for the 10am opening or wait a few hours and avoid the lines?

I'm about an hour east of Kerrville. Weather for Sat is forecast to be good.

Anyone else planning on being there on Saturday and what time are you shooting for?

Want to meet in Blanco around 9am?

My plan is to take 1888 / 1376 from Blanco to Fredericksburg and then 16 down to Kerrville.

That's a bit early for me. Maps says it will take an hour and a half to get to Blanco.

Spotted in Kerville today!

That was me. I walked around the side and front of the hotel, and didn't see another Valkyrie. Plenty of Harley's and ADV bikes though.  Cheesy

I was about eight bikes away.  In fact in the top right corner of the pic you can see my white helmet on the back of the saddlebags.

I got there about 9.30am and got by flag at 11am.  Spent that time chatting with a guy I know from another forum.  I hit Leakey, Bandera and Waring on Sat.  Only 250 miles for me, you must have racked up a lot more.   Weather was perfect.

I'd say 80% of the bikes were HD; lots of Can-Am's too, some travelling in big groups.

Beautiful Interstate by the way!
