Yes I know its five years old but I do not think I have shared it here before because it was not combined (edited) to include all four videos.

In October of 2020, we traveled to West Virginia and took a ride on the Back of the Dragon.  The video linked below is a combination of four (4) videos I made on our trip North on the Back of the Dragon and several still images from the "image" taker that mans the roadway.

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/l9cz7hvbqvlizzmr1z97q/Back-of-Dragon-Oct-2020-w-stills.mp4?rlkey=yubhppfuv0x5k9nl00uovavw4&st=78i7go65&dl=0

One thing I cannot validate is the actual date of the trip.  The videos all show an October date.  The images from the "image taker" are dates September, 2020.    But I am not sure of the actual dates. Still trying to verify that.

Here is a link to the same video on Rumble, as of this posting it is still being "processed".

Note: The Rumble video will not have completed processing until about 7:30 PM December 19, 2025.

https://rumble.com/v738kmk-back-of-the-dragon-october-2020.html

I included two different ways to access the video because I was concerned about the "image" quality on my uploaded videos to Rumble.

So, the Dropbox video is the same video uploaded to Rumble but, since it is just a "file", the video quality be will whatever your player can "utilize".

SR 16 between Tazewell, VA and Marion, VA is a great ride!

I was riding it many years before anyone thought to call it, "Back of The Dragon".

I'm sad and also glad that they did though.

While it can get pretty crowded now, both communities really need the tourist $$$'s that it brings to the area.

SR 16 starts in St Mary's, WV runs through Virginia and ends in Charlotte, NC.

The unusual part is that it's designation as SR 16 is the same in all 3 states.

Most State Routes change #'s when they cross state lines.

SR 16 is worth riding for almost it's entirety, not just the section they call "Back of the Dragon".

I'd reccomend riding it to anyone that is passing through the area.

I only got to ride a small part of it when someone in the group ran off the road

Don(Highbinder) went home and trailered the bike back to UpsnDowns farm
and we all got to see see the place   When was that Tracy? back at the 2nd Johnson CIty Inzane?
The person who crashed never returned to another Inzane.

Strider and SmokinJoe each vowed never to eat another bagel (I had some in my saddlebag that were kinda hard lol)

Some day I hope to spend a whole bunch of time riding down that way

Thanks for posting that video

Evan I'll have to look at the Tee's ...
I don't think it was DOTS. so might have been an INZANE

VA16 use to be called the best kept secret ,till they decided to promote it.
But it's still pretty quiet, by standards.

I just checked the videos for quality and not happy with the quality from either of the links above.

So, I uploaded it to YouTube and you can watch it in there.  It appears to play back at 1080P.   I could not get that quality from either of the links above. I figured the link on my "file storage" area would allow playback at whatever your computer desired but not true.  So.....  the video below appears to play at 1080P.
