Glad you finally got what you needed.  Any idea what the wrong ones were even for?

No idea but I suppose I could do some sleuthing with the part numbers and see what shakes out.

I have a second 350 ls1 engine on an engine stand that came out of a 99 Corvette that I bought for a project. I have had the engine for 10 years now and really have just been pushing it around all this time. Since I’m working on the same engine from the same year in my car now, I thought why not pull the valve cover and see what it looks like inside after 26 years and I’m told 116,000 miles.

I have to admit I was amazed that it looked this clean as this engine has seen its share of drag strip runs. But these engines came from GM with Mobile 1 and most people continued to use it throughout its life. I’m hoping the engine in my car which has fewer miles is that clean, but I’m not going to open it up further until I’m ready for more mods.

I was trying to test fit those headers to see how they fit but the header collectors have brackets on them and are hitting the upright of the engine stand so I couldn’t tighten them down. I’m going to get my car running again before I tackle installing the headers. The last of my parts order is supposed to be here Saturday.

Finally putting things back together.
This is the culprit that started it all, the oil pressure sensor that I extended out from behind the intake manifold. Final resting spot to be determined after I confirm everything is working properly.

The most difficult part I have run into was making the block off plates for the exhaust manifolds to eliminate the air injection system. 1/4” T6061 aluminum is tough stuff. Especially if you don’t have the proper tools, which in this case would have been a band saw with a metal cutting blade for aluminum.

They’re rough looking but I think they will get the job done. I will probably take another swing at making them with a

I still have to reinstall the radiator shrouding and air filter ducting, plug in all the injector harnesses, double check my work then it will be time to see if she fires back up.
