A little mod I did to my bike that may help others in the future. When I bought the bike the rear cross bar support for the saddle bags was missing. You can't just order it you have to buy the whole mounting hardware. Anyway I went to lowes and bought 2  elbows conduit metal 3/4 inch and also a connector to join the pieces together. I cut 1 inch off both pipes and measured 3/4 back from the cut off piece and drilled a 1/4 hole in each pipe. Slid them on and drilled thru the bar to secure the 2 90 degree pipes and then coupled them together. Not other cutting needs to be done they work out just right. Here is some pictures. Now the bags are supported better.
