I live in Texas.  The Houston area Honda dealerships refuse to do even maintenance work on Valkyries.

Anyone know of a Honda Dealership in Texas that will still work on Valkyries?

Any good motorcycle shops that work on Valkyries?

What do you need done?  I like in Pearland and can help on most things except electrical issues.

I really appreciate the offer but Im already taking my bike monday or tuesday to him.  Bike has 130,000 miles.  Getting a radiator flush, brake pads, new brake fluid all around , engine oil and filter and rearend fluid.  and I was going to get valves adjustment checked but on the phone he said no noises from the valves and cranks and runs good they probly dont need adjusting.  In the future I will keep you in mind as I would love to help and learn how to work on my Valkyrie.

Anytime.  I adjusted my valves on the blue bike in my signature at 150k and it was a waste of time, actually.  2 of the valves were off less than the tolerance.  If you use synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles, you won't have enough wear on the valve train.

Make sure he changes the clutch fluid as well.  I just got my parts to replace the clutch slave cylinder over the weekend, so I will be working on that this coming weekend.  My current Valkyrie has 107k.

Took my 2001 Valkyrie to the mechanic I found in Cypress Texas on Monday eve and he just called and said my bike is ready.  I supplied all parts and fluids.  His labor is $450.   Hr put my new brake pads in, flushed the brake lines and put new fluid in them, did a radiator flush with new coolant mixture, replaced clutch fluid, changed oil and filter, and changed rear end oil.  I had him test drive to listen for any valve adjustments needed.  He said no valve adjustments needed.  I thought that was fair price.  He has been through the Honda mechanic school.   Nice easy going guy.  See above posts for his name and number.  Dont know his ability to work on Valk motors and carbs but in his shop he has a couple crotch rockets torn down he is working on.  When I took my bike there another customer was loading his 1970's totally restored Yamaha dirt bike and he said he has used the guy several times with good results.   Wild West Honda in Katy Texas highly recommended him as they will not work on Older Valkyries.

Good to know Digger.  I know someday I will need a local mechanic, but not for a few more years.
