I have a Sam's Club credit card. Always pay the bill within a day of getting the bill. I use it almost exclusively. I get 5% cash back on fuel no matter where I buy it.  1 to 3% on all other purchases.
Tried to use it on the Inzane registration.  It would not go. Tried three times. No luck.  Closed screen. Gave up as I was getting tired.
After work today , stopped at Sam's for a few items and to pay the bill. Self checkout , card declined twice by me. Young lady tried to help ,declined twice.  Can only pay CC bill at register. Cancelled my order.  Go to checker , inserted card ,got my Sam's cash credit and card declined. Used other CC.
Came home and called.  Please hold   for a non-English speaking representative.
Go thru all the BS. After I asked 6 or 8 times as to why my card was declined , "we did not recognize the Valkyrie Riders Club".  R E A L L Y.

Gonna take a wild guess. I'll bet the credit card companies use an algorithm to determine possible fraud.

Likely takes all your purchases into consideration, where, what, and who you purchase things from.

And all of a sudden a purchase from the VRCC pops up and falls outside of your common purchase trends. Probably raises some red flags algorithm wise and suspends your account. One of two things will happen. Either the fraud will be stopped, or the mad as hell credit card holder will call and confirm the purchase.

Moonshot , you may be on to something. There is no such thing as  privacy .  Look at something on line and all the contact in the world for that or similar item will appear.

A friend of mine had a purchase for ammo declined, seems it was not on their approved list for the masses to buy ammo.

I use a Capital One card and have not experienced any issues with firearm or ammo purchases.

The Sam's card may not have VRCC on some approved list and considered the attempt a hack, then shut the card down.

I always carry some cash just in case, as every once in a while, my card gets hacked and they got to send a new one.

My back up card is a debit card with relatively low balance, which I use mostly for groceries at well established stores and nothing else.

At least you got to talk to a actual human, that convenience is slowly going to AI.
