I prefer light early in the morning when it's been dark all night. Don't need more light at the end of the day while it has already been light all day.  crazy2

AZ doesn’t go on DST. The last thing we want is for the sun to stay up later. It was determined that restaurants and movie theaters suffer because we don’t want to leave the house till dark.

If you want more daylight, get out of bed earlier.

From a working perspective, I know a lot of contractors like DST.

We know the sunset doesn’t change with the time change but it’s nice to to say we’re quitting at 7pm and there still be some daylight left.

If and when we get a fixed time permanently, I will adjust as I do now. My body clock has to be adjusted 2x a year now. It sucks! We were like AZ and never changed but.... Angry

The poll should also include the option of not caring which (DST OR Standard) is used.   Pick one and leave it alone.
If it did, I would change my vote.

DST makes me think of the old adage voiced years ago; it's like cutting 2' off one end of a 10' and attaching it to the other end, thinking you now have a 12' rope.

I'm with others on this, pick one and stick with it.

This... I prefer we stay on DST but pick one and stick with it...

I have to ask... did we do it? Did we save the daylight?

I like to think I'm like Gunny Highway..... "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome."   Grin

But the older I get, the less I like change.

Even though it only takes a couple days to not notice it, I don't like it.

I adapt very well either way. I have zero issue falling back or springing ahead although I do prefer how the day goes during DST and I know a lot of guys who like working a bit later and still being able to get off work and have a little daylight left to chill out at home because many can’t start much earlier than they already do. Most guys I know start work 7:30- 8am but crews are usually where supposed to be before that.

It’s though to start banging nails at 6am or cutting lawns at 7am. Lots of towns around here have noise and work ordinances about how early work can start. Large construction site are usually treated different depending on proximity to residential areas but there’s still limits.

Added;

Also, here on the east cost of NJ we’re a huge boating community. We have hundreds of marinas and bait/tackle shops, not to mention all the other marine types of businesses involved throughout Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May counties. The “extra” daylight is a huge plus for those with boats to get out on our bays, rivers and even out to the ocean. Business and pleasure certainly do go hand in hand in the season.
