Check in 17 mins early for my 0830 appt. Bout 0824 my Nurse opens the door and sez c'mon in Dennis. She runs the vitals enters stuff in the puter and mabe 12 mins later Dr. walks in and the Very First thing he sez is EVERYTHING we say will be recorded by AI and should you decide Anything can be erased should you bot want it in the record. Nuttin erased. Go to lab for blood draw and the G L Y L just got done wrapping the needle pncture area-THIS Is where it got INTERESTING-another nurse ushers me and another Veteran into the X ray lab along with the 2 X ray techs and sez lock the door report of man with a gun in parking lot. And all I can think is-It's Missouri and someone saw the weapon and lost it probably a d type. We were held bout 25 mins half hr or so and the all clear wuz given. As I'm leaving there is a Local L E O in her squad car so I roll up next to her and roll down my window as she alo rolls her down. My suspicions were spot on he was done with his appt and putting the pistol back in his holster!  BUT to be fair there Is signage all over the area stating No Weapons of any kind Allowed on Campus. Not even pocket knives. The way I go to git to the V A Clinic I pass 4 trffic lights. I am GUARANTEED to hit one that is red. That's when I take out my pistol and put it in the center console. And I'll wait til I git to the restaurant-bout 2 miles-before rearming myself. And YES the ladt L E O was 1 of many Officers that showed up and she'd already surmised the situation. We Live in Missouri most everyone Is Armed!  Wink RIDE SAFE.

I have a floor safe in my Ram pick-up, but I have to get in the back door to access it. Probably still wait till off premises to get it out.

Well V A facilities Are Fed Gov Property. There Is signage as I've stated in the parking areas and on ingress doors. There is a ribbon cutting ceremony for the New and Much Larger V A Clinic happning 2moro and my pistola Will be ib the center console unobserved until I am in Fact off the fed installation. Thinkin after yesterday security Just Might be a tad more stringent! RIDE SAFE.

Haven't seen anything like that at Leavenworth, but I try to remember to leave my BoyScout knife and the pepper spray in the glove compartment before I go into the building , same can also be said for the KCK clinic on Parallel Parkway. Local KCK government offices also have a "no weapons policy"  - and they check.
