I'm in the midst of installing a Rostra electronic CC on the trike. Since the Valks don't have a modern source for the pulse needed for speed regulation, I have to create one. I recall on the Audiovox I'm replacing, I used a coil connection for the pulse source so I'm wondering why that couldn't work again. My trike is an I/S so it has the magnetic speed sensor on the front axle for the electronic speedo reading. Per  the shop manual, it gives a 5v pulse and I currently have a question in to Rostra asking if the servo box can handle a pulse of that magnitude. If so...then I'm good. I still have the coil connection in place and it would be nice if that would suffice. Can anyone think of why it wouldn't work, wouldn't it basically be the ECM output triggerring the coil.

Maybe I'm missing something, no surprise there. The factory manual printed the I/S schematic so small I have difficulty tracing lines without a magnifying glass. That gets old real fast.

John, I have good schematics available for free download on my website. They are the Rattlebars ones that are public domain. There are ones for the C/CT, and ones for the CF. There are also black and white and ones that have been colorized by Steve Glowacki.

Here is a li k to the Interstate colorized set.

I bookmarked all the colored versions (I/S, C/CT) along with the generic parts list. It was all on my old computer but it crashed little over a year back and I couldn't recover anything without spending about $1500, and then no guarantee. I'm thinking maybe I should invest in a newer external drive and download my "keeper" stuff there...just in case. I have an external now but doesn't seen to want to talk to the desktop unit.

PS: I also printed all the schematics and parts list. I'll keep them in a 3-ring notebook where I keep special stuff and procedures only for the Valk. It's about an inch thick now, author's names bring back a few memories cuz a lot of them are no longer with us or aren't members any more.

Yea, they really are. There is a history begind them. They have been hosted by different folks over the years. Jersey had them on his website, but when he shut it down I felt someone should keep them available.

You can find all 4 versions for download on my website. They are free and public domain.
Just scroll down the page to the Download section.

Dave, I got all the schematics and the parts list downloaded to my 'puter and external drive as well so if this PC crashes I'm still covered.
