The only one I saw listed was the 1 1/4" chrome for a .453" rim hole, code 17-562 @ $1.90 plus s&h.  Is that the one that fits the valk?  I really don't much care for the OEM valve with the little plastic holder.

That's the right one. It also fits 1800 Wings. Patchboy has a minimum shipping fee which drives the cost for 2 up too high. Get a group of friends together and order more (10-12) for the same shipping fee.

If you get the correct one the plastic clips will go back on and they look almost factory.

I buy them from my local tire store for $3 each with no shipping or handling

That's the correct one...17-562. The shipping is $11.62 (even for one) so buy a bunch and share the love.

Send me your address and I'll send you $15.00 when you order get me ( 4 ) stems . The $15.00 should pay for them and split the shipping cost with enough left over for you to mail my ( 4 ) stems to Tennessee. If it does'nt let me know.Post back to me here if interested in doing this.

I think I'll do as "Brad" said and check the local tire stores.  Plus I didn't realize that you'd still use the little plastic stem retainers.  Actually, I've never had a problem with the OEM stems, I just change them out with every other tire replacement.  As I recall the cost was about $15.00 each time, installed.  If I came in with my own stems, you can bet that there would then be a charge for the valve install.  I wasn't really looking for a cost savings as much as I was thinking that not having that flexable gromet at the base of the OEM stem might be safer, especially if the plastice retainer came loose or broke and that has happened to me.  FYI, I now always apply some type of HD glue or hardener to the base of the retainer nclip.  Having said all that, I'll go today to check the local tire stores and will continue the use of the "glue".

I think the point he was making is that they would still go on and look sorta like stock.  I stuck the retainers in the parts bin.

I threw my plastic holders in the furnace at the shop.   They should be pretty much all gone by now.  That was 6 years ago.

I've run patchboy 90s without the stock plastic retainer for a couple of years.  When you install them, be sure to tighten them past snug and closer to what you think might be too tight or they might leak.  They can't be tightened outside the tire.  Of course, it was the rear...   Angry

The plastic retainers should not be needed, that's one of the good features with these. They are solid and mounted solid, you press on them with the air chuck or air guage and they no move, like the stock junk. My stock Honda valve stems split at the rubber base, resulting in a flat front tire running at 75 mph, center lane on I-4 in Orlando. I had my wife on the back, we both lived through it.
When she regained her composure and breath (hyperventilating) we looked up and there was a sky-writing airplane overhead. The message in the sky was "Jesus Loves You" I felt his love that day. Anyway, I've been meaning to replace the Honda valves stems since that day. These are cheaper, even with the shipping than the Honda Valve-stems. Three years ago I replaced them at about $15.00 each!!! I didn't have a choice that day.
Joe, I would've taken you up on that deal, unfortunately, mine are already ordered.

Yep, don't need the retainers with the patchboy stems. Only if you want the factory look. I used to have to add air on each ride. Replaced those factory stems and add air a couple of times each year. I bedded them with a touch of sealer and now only look at them when I wash the wheel.

OK, so my stock rear stem has gone bad, with the typical rubber cracking problem.  So I went to the Honda dealer here in Jax (FL)....they had steel stems....FOR $17 EACH!!!  WTF, Over!?

I guess I'll order from Pboy, but of course I'd rather just pick them up locally, but where?  Did stop at one tire place (Discount Tire) and they just looked at me funny and said you need to go to a mcy shop, boy!  lol

Tell, that tire shop boy, he best get his head out of his ass,  these are not exclusive motor cycle stems..........

I bought a Dodge Ram, 09 vintage in October and had one wheel that wouldn't hold air.   Valve stem to make a short story.    1 of my extras is now in that wheel on the truck.

You need three for the Interstate! BTW been using them for years,  The IS I sold you had them, and so does my Tourer.  That leaves me seven, of course 3 will be on my trike when I get one.  Just enough left for my wife's car when I put on new tires this summer!  Cheesy  hoser

Kind of strange as when I was looking to buy I asked Patchboy about the shipping cost nand he would not reduce it BUT Patchboy sells them on Ebay and shipping is only $4.90 with a "Buy It Now" of $11.99 for 4.
 So that's $17 for 4 or $4.25 each with shipping! crazy2

I bought a one piece billeted aluminum 90* valve stem instead. I bought mine black, good thing because I was looking at powder coating my rim black & red to match my bike, or black chrome.

How about these: http://www.throttleworx.com/K_L_90_degree_Rubber_Base_Valve_Stem_p/kl32-8208.htm

Although I am also partial to these: http://www.throttleworx.com/Ariete_Aluminum_11_3mm_Valve_Stems_Black_p/tr213902.htm

Thanks Guys!!  I was able to go on ebay and ordered a pack of 10 valve stems from Patch Boy with the same $4.90 shipping.
