Talked to a guy who was giving me a procedure, a Cat Scan at University of Tennessee Hospital

He was riding motorcycle on the Dragon US 129.

He was side swiped by a car no less and he was way over on the white line about to go over the Edge

Of the road way.

He did not wreck and his bike was damaged, the car slowed down and then proceeded to keep going.

Leaving the scene.

This guy we will call Bill, pulled out his 40 caliber semi auto and fired over the top of the car for starters.

The car then stopped, Police came and took both reports of the incident wiht the car driver knowing he ws in the wrong , stated he shot at me.

No witnesses but these two guys so Bill stated he heard the other guys car back fire is all he heard.

Guy got his bike fixed no harm no foul.

Police did not site the gun owner any problems as he was legal to carry.

If "Bill" did that in Minnesota, he would be going to jail.  There would be no "wink and nod" from law enforcement. Here the use of lethal force (just firing the gun) is legally justified only to prevent death or great bodily harm (which is defined as long term or permanent disability or disfigurement, even broken bones don't necessarily qualify).  Here, also one has the "duty to retreat".  In other words, you must try to escape the situation if at all possible.

If a Minnesotan comes home from vacation to find a group of individuals emptying the contents of his home into a moving van and he shoots and kills one of them, the home owner WILL be charged with murder.  If he simply points a firearm at them he is in deep do-do.

I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying.

Would rather be tried by jury of twelve than carried by six of my friends.

In texas if people get caught robbing form the neighbors house, there considered dead meat and the

gunman or other home owner will usually not be charged.

Happened while the guy was on a portabel phone calling 911 and talking to the operator.

There is a casee in Chicago that is about to blow the lid on these panty waste states laws.

It's already been paseed that you have the right to carry and degend yourself in DC.

This is blowing the Liberal Gun Haters Minds.

Our Rights our the rights of the people that includes us all.

Change she is a coming.

Or Revolution is gonna follow.

Senator from Kentuck yes I said Kentuck on perpose. Read a letter form a guy in Loiusville that said

just what iam sayin to you now to ole Harry Reid and ole Liberal Reid did nothing but lie back.

But freedom loving Americans are coming together and the last time that happened we won and we

will win again.

Yea one to the head.

As pirates use to say Arrgh! Dead men tell no tales.

I always say two to the head you know their dead.

But it's a low percentage shot. The head that is. I go for the 10 Ring.

My buddy and I practice like this, Two to the chest and then one to the head. Remeber I carry a 9mm.

and a 380 so it may take that many.

An armed society is a polite society.

If they take my guns away I may just start carrying a Bow and arrow. Or Crossbow.

That's the ticket.

Or I will be just be like the outlaws and keep my guns.

That's a better idea.

In England they are trying to confiscate air guns if they haven't already done it.  Fortunately, many of our states are NOT like Minnesota.  There is a big case before the Supreme Court about Chicago's extremely restrictive gun laws.  Hopefully the justices do us right (pun intended).

If you’ve ever been in the situation of being robbed, or in the situation were someone is entering your premises with the intent of robbing you, then you’ll know how nice it is to have a gun!

Been there, done that!

My only problem is you shouldn’t just let ANYONE have a gun.  There should be some type of back ground check for buying.  You should be able to carry a gun.  You should be able defend yourself if need be.  If a criminal can careless about the law, and a law abiding person is left defenseless, then the criminal has more rights and has more freedoms then the one that cares more for the laws that govern us all.

I agree, I carry and would not hesitate to use to protect my family.  We still have to find away to keep guns out of the hands of nuts like the West Virginia Univesity shooter and or the Columbine Kids.

That is where it gets difficult, were to draw the line, no one trust the Government to do it, at least I don't. If you go back to the days of the old west where everyone carried a gun, there was instant justice but lots of innocent people werre shot and killed.

There is a required background check when purchasing a firearm from a dealer.  See the link: http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/nics/nicsfact.htm

Notice when ole William Shatner gave up the goods he used misdirection to get the criminal to

think he was winniing and then blasted him.

That;s very improtant when carrying to act just like you would if you were not carrying a weapon.

in other words I use it only as last resort, i.e. I can't run , hide, or not able to fight back.

Then and only then bring your gun into the equation.  Cause you just show it to them, then some

other things can happen, they can take it away from you, use it on you , sue you for agravated assault

just for pulling it, they are going to sue if they live regardless if you are right or wrong, one

story is easier for the police to deal wiht if you know what I mean.

Even if they don't live their family is going to sue you.

Still better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
