All this talk about Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and Route 12 has me all lathered up. My vacation time is way too limited to make the full trek on wheels this year but I can easily fly into Vegas and rent a Wing. Sometimes money is more affordable than time! EagleRider.com seems to be a big name in rentals and says they have Wings for rent. Any good or bad experiences doing this? Tips?

I rented a HD Road King back in 02 to go to Americade. My "79" Wing at that time was having a severe
case of a leaking carb(s).  No problem with Eagle Rider.. They didn't have Wings to rent back.

My cousin rented the same type of bike in "04" in St Louis from them and also no problem with EagleRider  .
( The 79 Wing was running fine on this trip which eventually took us to the Colorado Rockies)

 Hope this helps.

My wife and I are looking to fly out west and rent a bike, also. She came home from AAA with about 8 or 9 books of National Parks and info from EagleRider for renting Harleys. (have to look closer but I think that was all they offered) Just like you, we don't want to spend a week travelling to get out there. A friend suggested that I ship my Valk out there and back....HHMMMMMM??

I have rented with them several time, mostly in Tucson area...great people...has been a few years, would drop a name for you to mention.

They will also drop off at your hotel...a little additional $$$. Never took them up on it.

Enjoy the ride...and take and post pics...

If PHX is your flyin destination, Fun Time Rentals is a good choice. He has Wings and he spares no expense in making sure evrything right when they go out the door. Sorry: I don't have their number. Eaglerider is in the area too.

i would think that some honda dealers would also rent their bikes.  just tell em you want to take it for a test drive, and you want to be thorough!

My only experience with Eaglerider was less than favorable.

I had set up a rental in San Antonio. I was attending a conference and was going to stay over to do the Hill Country. Had reservations, got dropped off, only to find out that they were closing their doors!  tickedoff Going out of business.

No communication, no call, no email, no sh!t!

I rented from a Harley dealer up the road and enjoyed my shortened time before having to hit the airport the next day. Ultra Classic, sounded like the valves were clickin away the entire trip,

I've rented from other outfits; Newport Beach, Maui, and all was good. Never could find someone with Hondas in stock, always had either a Road King or Ultra Classic.

The wife and I rented a Dresser from one of the BIG NAME Harley renters, a few years back, to tour Yellowstone, Glacier and several surrounding states. The Harley ran as I expected, (nuff said) with no breakdowns. The only problem which we faced, was that the rental branch was striving to stretch every cent out of their equipment. The bike we rented had about 2000 miles left on the rear tire, and we were riding about 2800 miles in eight days. (They wouldn't budge on new rubber, and had no other touring rigs available.
Upon our return, another guy was screaming at them that his rear tire was so bald, he was forced to change it on the way back from his run to Sturgis, and they would not reimburse him for the new rubber, AND were blacklisting him from renting there in future, for altering the bike without their okay. So, be sure you make it CLEAR how you NEED the rig to be of a certain condition, BEFORE you put anything on a credit card.  Other than that, it was a great tour.                     Mike in N.Y.

We rent when we vacation, have done it for years. Only because of the time constraint. That way I can fit in a vacation for the girls and the boys can do their thing too. We have never had a problem with any of the rental bikes or the companies renting them, always has been a real easy experience.
Now due to cash flow, we tend to explore our own state more and neighboring states, on our bike. My experience was the maintenance on the rentals was kept up well, assuming they have to for liability issues. Never had bald or worn tires, bikes have always been ready on time and clean. I did find it hard to rent a Wing, Harley's seem to have a higher rental availabiliy.
