Its been about a month since I had my retina reattached.  I am going to ask him today if I have being up on "Two Wheels" in my future! I still do not have any real depth perception but hopefully that will all straighten out.

Good luck Steve

I had a detached retina when I was a young man of about 30 and still have a nice central blind spot in the right eye and have had retinopathies (leaks- like seeing thru mud) in both eyes.

You had a good surgeon and a positive mental outlook

Lots of folks ride with one eye only partially good or not at all. some of them right here in the VRCC that you have met and we are all prayin for your full recovery

Try not to let Patti smack you upside the head too much  and you will be just fine

You gonna be around this weekend? I may ride on up and say howdy

Hey, Bonzo, one of my friends who rides a BMW had a detached retina, but I can't remember how long he had to wait.  However, he is riding again and doing well.  I had a torn retina last August and can see well enough to drive or ride anything.  You will get back on your bike.  cooldude

I've had detached retinas in both my eyes.  Some kind of genetic condition, long story, but as the liquid in my eye turns to sticky gel as I get older, the more apt the gel will pull my retina loose.  Went to the eye doctor for a checkup and when he started getting the other doctors to come look at my eyes, I knew something was up.  He sent me to a specialist the next day and had laser surgery on one eye that day to tack it back, then did the other one the next day.  I had no symptoms whatsoever and probably need to go back to get checked out.  And don't let anyone tell you that laser surgery doesn't hurt - staring straight into a laser is a special kind of pain that I can't describe.
