Hey everyone, hope all is good. I am running a 60 series tire on my valk right now. I was thinking of switching to a 55 series. Was wondering what the pro v.s. the cons will be. Thanks AkNickster wasilla Ak

Me too, except it will be mid July..... Lets see....... Lower top end Lower max speed in each gear Faster acceleration in each gear Rear end sits lower to the ground Decrease in gas mileage More fender clearance Must be more but Greys Anatomy just came on.....

Clearance up and down yes. But the 55 is a couple mm wider than the 60 I believe.

I run a 55 on one bike and a 60 on the other. By my GPS at 70 mph both bikes read the same rpm. The only thing I can say is maybe the 60 series has a softer side wall were the 55 has a very hard side wall. The next 60 series I will be running is the Bridgestone Grid 019. It has a harder sidewall than the one I'm running now. My 55 does look a little wider. So I would say if you are running a hard sidewall in the 60 right now you will see a little difference in rpm, but not much. Even if it cuts your top end down how often do you run top end? David

I run the 55 on my bike's ... Directional tread pattern... High performance speed rated... Best rated on both wet and dry .... Softer compound for better grip.... Excellent cornering ability .... I've used the Cooper Zeon 2XS ( 205/55/16 ) for years however on one of my bikes the last tire change I went with the Fuzion ZRi ( 205/55/16 )and I'm really diggin' this tire in fact when my other bikes come due a new rear I'll more than likely mount the Fuzion ZRi on them as well. Folks that run thoses high mile tires that come on Grandma's Buick seem to get away with it however its not for me . I like knowing when I take her into a curve she will come out of that curve with me still onboard

Happy with my 55 seris. It doesn't sit as low as I thought it would. Actually I cant tell a differance. I was hoping to at least sit flat footed, but I dont. My rpm's did increase a little. I think at 75mph I'm at 3400 rpms. I would get a 60 in this tire if it was availible but its not. This tire is good enough that I will continue to get it in a 55.

I have the Good Year TT on mine, not sure if it is a sport car tire or a Buick tire but it handles well and I have no problem pushing her through the corners. The wear is almost unbelieveable, I now have a little over 24,000 on it. I keep thinking I need to get a new one but it looks great, It is a 60 seris and I have not done any mods (stock shocks). I do not get any rub and I weigh just under 200. My lady rides often, I am lucky she weighs about 130. Not sure I will change anything when it is time to replace, I am sure I will stay darkside.

Just curious have you pulled that wheel off in 24,000 miles to do spline /o-ring /pinion gear maintenance ? If not I'm bettin' you will wish you had.

I also run a 205/55 series tire. A Yokohama A048. Im with Smokin Joe on going with the softer tire for grip. Im not a corner carver but if I need to I dont want to hope it sticks. Im hoping this tires wears out right at around 12k miles so I can do the rear end maintenance at the same time as a tire change. RPM's run about 200-300 higher but no big deal. That just might be the best looking car tire to ever grace a Valk. I've looked at them several times however a dude at the VOAI Rally in Helen , Georgia several years ago had one on his Blown Valkyrie and said he only got about 6,000 miles out of it I wasted my last Cooper Zeon 2XS in 7,400 miles that's why I went with the Fuzion ZRi.

Most guys back then running this tire ran the medium compound because thats all they could find. I have the medium hard compound so Im hoping to get a little more out of it.

Yea, I pull it every 8-10k just in case, I had the whole bike apart about 3k ago to replace the clutch and did it again. Thanks for mentioning it I surely don't want to replace the rear drive unit.
