GoPro HD Hero camera

Sure could use some help on this one.

Just got the new HD Helmet Hero (doesn't seem to work with a bandana   ) and need to know what playing, and more importantly, video editing software works best. Packet instructions are limited.

I've got Windows Media Player but it does recognize the Mpeg-4 format.

Quicktime Media Player will play it but its somewhat choppy and the audio and video doesn't match up.

Sonic MyDVD does not recognize it.

Cyber DVD Suite doesn't seem to recognize the mpeg "4" either.

Plays well on the big screen tv tho. You can hear every gear shift.  

This was my first roll with it. I definitely want to get something other then the $20.00 GoPro mounting system I received.

Took this shot up at the local hardware store. I always thought I'd like to have one of these. What a beauty, its even the right color combo Black & Chrome.  
I'd put some old style Cragars on that baby tho, deep sigh...

For playback on your PC get VLC it's free and it plays anything I have ever thrown at it.

As to editing, it depends on what you want to do. Windows Movie Maker isn't bad for a freebee. Cyberlinks Power Director is reckoned to be one of the best but it is expensive and should work with your videos.

I have the old three megapixel gopro... my videos aren't HD even straight out of the box, so naturally none
of my edited uploaded videos are "the best you ever saw", but when I first started, they were
awful, now they're not so bad...

I edit with Window Movie Maker, avi goes in wmv comes out, the main "quality preserver" is the steps
you take when mashing the save button after you get done editing:

Finish Movie->Save to my computer->whatever->other settings->High Quality Video (Small)

results in usable video that is small enough to upload to youtube... might be pretty good if you start out
with more than three megapixels in the first place...
