thought i had seen it all till to day.  Looks like HD is giving you a skate board when you buy one seen this guy today with a skate board straped on behind him.  the only thing that I can think of is that's the way he plans on getting to where he is going when the HD breaks down. that is why i said where is the camera when you need it. ...I stopped to help one once on a bridge over a lake near here... He was outta gas... I offered to take him to a gas station and get some gas, then bring him back.

He'd hear nothing of it, he was NOT getting on a Honda...

Instead... He dug a rope outta his saddle bag and asked if I'd tow him to the gas station... (I'm on my Valk)

I kid you not...

I SO wish I'd had a camera to get a picture of this HD being towed by a Valk down the shoulder of the freeway to the gas station...

(Tempting as it was to let the fat lady sing, I took it real slow and took him to the gas station)

Now that is a great story.  2funny  A photo of the HD being towed by a Honda would have made a great poster.  I would buy one.

Coming back from a ride last summer with Fudgie we saw a Harley broke down on highway 69. We turned around to see if we could help. After trying to jump it with no results we decided to tow it. Fudgie did the honers due to having a trailer hitch. I followed. We rode slow down the sholder. I was home when I thought about taking a picture. Oh well. We helped a stranded biker. He seamed to be nice guy. No atitude at all. Oh, a whole lot of Harleys past by while we were sitting and didnt stop. Oh well......

I wonder if the rope is part of the factory tool kit?

I actually wondered about that... Thought it was kinda odd that he'd just happen to have some rope in his saddle bag, but then again, I tend to carry a lot of odd things in mine too... just in case... Although rope isn't one of 'em...

There was a picture posted here before the forum switch (and I don't think it was archived) of a Valkyrie rider who got called to come help a friend on an HD.  The HD-er thought his buddy was going to bring the truck with a trailer.  No.  He brought the Valk pulling a trailer.  Got the HD home, though.
Maybe the "guilty" party will re-post.

Hope everyone here knows to NOT tie the rope to the bike being towed. The towed rider should be able to turn that sucker loose!!   Shocked

I towed an old panhead 50 miles once in the seventies with a CB 750, we swiped a clothsline rope out of somebody's back yard!  Run about 50mph on 2 lane blacktop, we did not tie the rope to the panhead, justt eook a couple wraps around the handle bars.  He only had to cut himself loose twice.  I did the pulling he did the stopping. Works purdy good.  cooldude hoser

I remember back in the 60's and 70's.... a rope was always part of the tool kit.  No matter what bike I rode.
