"The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters."

Of course not, the superior socialist intellect needs and certainly wants no input from the people.

The idiot thinks he's the Sheriff of Nottingham:  all the beasts/fishes of the wild belong to the Crown.

If something like this goes thru, I predict a million boxes of raw fish mailed to the White House (with no ice).  (The cheapest postage takes the longest to deliver..... Wink)

I left England to get away from the LUNATIC left and now the fools are here.

I was told today by some of the elementary kids I drive to school that I was no longer a school bus driver but a............................................. COMMUNITY HELPER..........................................
as are the police, fire, E.M.T and any parents who volunteer at the school etc etc etc.

And so the Federal Government in this country slowly poisons the minds of the children of America. Brain washing is a long slow process so get them whilst they are young.

Go ahead and defend him,  sooner or later he will get around to banning or outlawing or raising taxes on something you care about.  You know there are people who would outlaw motorcycles, they would be considered a health hazard in a national health plan I would bet...........................

No way you can convince his supporters that that is really his intent.  I am sure THE VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY made it all up.  Espn as a credible source of knowledge for sport-related information?  Hogwash I say.  This is clearly a smear campaign to malign everyone against this president who only knows what we need/want better than we ourselves, do.  Keep in mind, he said pass that health care bill now, don't worry about the coming elections.  That proves he only has our best interests at heart, even if we are too darn stupid to know it.

I got an e-mail about it a couple  months back...seems as though they are/were looking for a "national" license system...if this was how the planned on getting names and addresses...for there plan...I think we should run all the tree hugging global warming sun of a Britches out of office and our of this great land of ours...while it is still ours...

Looks like I will be carrying when I fish...and I will ride my Valk...

Gonna really help the poorer people of this country! I know people that depend on heading to the fishing hole to catch a weeks worth of meat during the nice weather. How are we going to support the national parks and lake. The fishing liscenes (sp) help pay for upkeep, research in better fish, rangers. Please let this be a bad joke.

Gonna really help the poorer people of this country!

Sure it'll help the poorer people -- it'll help make more of them!  It'll affect all the little bait shops, the larger hunting and fishing stores, the manufacturers of all the rods, reels, line, lures, hooks, creels, waders, gaffs. specialty clothing, and more.  Charter fishing boats won't be getting much work.  Fishing is a serious hobby, and there is a lot of money spent on serious hobbies -- just like we spend on our Valkyries!

Not to mention what it would do to the recreational boat market... I live about 5 miles from Charger Boats, and 20 miles from G3 boats, Bear Boat Trailers, Tracker, and several other manufacturers who's prime market is freshwater fishing boats. Aluminum welding fishing boat hulls and pontoons is a big source of work around here...

How absurd is that!  What do those idiots think the money from fishing licenses is used for.  Here in CO, most trout fisherman practice catch and release and give a lot more than they take.  I guess since they cannot pass a bloated healthcare bill, they go for banning recreational fishing.   uglystupid2

Hey Paul, I picked up this little paper back book, "None Dare Call It Treason," by John A Stormer, 1964. He studied the rise of socialism way back when and wrote this chilling warning of what is happening now. Then in 1968 he wrote the eulogy "The Death of a Nation." Truer words have never been written. Ought to be required reading for all US "citizens". No surprise that "they" would want to do something so obsured. This is what I try to warn folks about but not too many are listening.  uglystupid2 This just goes to prove what I've suspected all along, The Man and his cronies are all TOTAL and COMPLETE IDIOTS!!!!  uglystupid2

I have personally witnessed people in FL that depend on fishing to put food on their table. What kind of IDIOT would profess to be for the poor and then support something that would literally take food out of the mouths of the "poorest of the poor"?

Of course if people can't hunt or fish for food then they're more dependent upon the government and if people are dependent upon the government then the government has more control over them.

That's the bottom line with everything that him and his cronies have done or propose to do, it's not about providing healthcare or anything else for the people it's about controlling the people.

This does "BLOW" the mind, I sure hope that enough people get riled up about this to STOP it.  tickedoff

NYT: "ESPN outdoors editor Steve Bowman issued an apology yesterday afternoon, saying the article should have been clearly identified as commentary, not news, and should have had more balance. The Web site has since altered the article and added a header identifying it as an opinion piece."

Fisheries management is pretty boring when it's just based on facts.  Maybe it's the fishing pole makers trying to conjure up the same hysteria as the gun makers did so they can have a run on ugly sticks....

Actually, Obama himself conjured up the hysteria for the gun makers by his previous anti-gun record.
I did see the story from espn saying it was an op-ed piece, so I will be the first to issue a mea-culpa to Der Fuhrer if I meet him.

It is incredibly sad to see what is going on in the USA. Im glad I own A Valk and I get to converse with so many old school , stand up, like minded Americans in the VRCC. The types of independent thinkers who buy valks are like the independent thinkers who built this nation.
I am in the process of buying another handgun and my wife wants to know why I need another. I told her it wont be long before I cant buy anymore here in the land of the left (NJ). The way things are going here I may need it :-)
