Almost my seven year anniversary

Back in 2003 I almost traded my GL1100 for a Valk tourer in Daytona during Bike Week.
I had been wanting an I/S since I first saw a promo video at a dealership. Back in 2001 a local dealer was advertising Black Interstates for $9995.00 plus tax and plate fee. He had over 30 on hand. That same dealer ran that same ad again a year later, but only had ten in stock.
I had two years of severe tax problems with the IRS where I needed to liquidate some assets to settle and that blew those deals for me.
I kept talking about Valks to anyone that would talk to me. My wife got soo sick of hearing me talking of Valkyries,.....see said "just go out and buy one for Christs sake"!
I had second thoughts about buying a Tourer when I really wanted an Interstate, and just left. and went back to Michigan with my Goldwing.
When I got home, my wife said that I've denied myself a lot of things just so we could get ahead, pay the mortage, keep things running smoothly, and raise our daughter. She told me to just find what I want and buy it,......just to shut me up.
That next Saturday I looked at four Interstates and I wound up buying the first one I looked at. It had 12K miles and was loaded with rear speakers, CB radio, Baker Air Wings, Hondaline Fork Deflectors, new tires, and an extended warranty. All that for 10K!
The day I bought the bike was the same day that the original warranty ran out and I was told to call Honda to let them know that I was the new owner.
My wife and I just celebrated our 22nd wedding anniverary at Bike Week this year and this Saturday is my seven year anniversary with my Interstate.
