I had head about this coming out, saw a preview, thought it looked interesting, and then proceeded to forget about it. The other day I was in a Movie Gallery (which is going out) and was shopping cheap distractions...er cheap DVDs. I spotted the 2008 "Gonzo" which I had forgotten about, but then proceeded to remember.  I picked it up, then didn't get a chance to watch it.

Sunday evening I popped it in.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this was a great documentary. I think I thought it was a bio-pic, but instead it was a documentary of the life and work of Hunter S. Thompson. He was an unique and odd man, a figure of scorn and esteem in American literature, and a complicated guy. This documentary captures that.

Portions of Hunter's works are read by Johhny Depp.
Interviews with friends, family, and McGovern.

Interesting movie that you might want to check out if you haven't seen it, if you're curious about Hunter S. Thompson, or if spring has yet to reach you under the n'or easter that hit this past weekend.  cooldude
