The worst mileage I ever got on a rear Cooper Zeon 2XS car tire was 7,400 miles...It had Dyna-Beads in it ( 3 oz. )....I think they are no more than snake oil.

+1 on Dyna Beads! I'll put them in my Continental Vanco when it gets mounted along with my new front. That will be 6 tires with Dyna Beads.
I had to put 3oz in my Avon Cobra rear to equal the amount of lead I took off. 12,000 miles and counting with slight cupping and mild flat spot.

Dyna Beads worked well for me.
I had a rear Dunlop that developed a severe "bounce" at 35-40 mph. I later found out the reason was because either the tire wasn't balanced to begin with, or the weight came off somehow. I put 3 oz. of DynaBeads in the tire, and the problem disappeared immediately.

i have dyna beads in my tires, front and rear, although i don't have a car tire i used two ounces in front and three in back. i did notice a definete difference in the first 1/2 mile. as for any ill effects, don't know yet. i've only had them in for about 2000 miles. i do wonder if there's any aditional wear on the inside of the tires? i'll have to wait for when it's time to replace 'em to check.
i have talked to the local good year dealer, he uses them in the big 4x4 truck tires. he thinks they're a good product, i would think that if he uses them, there must be something to 'em.

I put them in both my Valks, front and rear. Dunlops on one and Metzlers on the other. Man do they run smooth down the highway.

I have the beads front and rear, have some slight vibration 35-40 mph. Above that they are smooth as silk. I'm guessing it takes rotation speed (around 40+) for the beads to collect at the right spots to cancel any vibration. I did not have any notable vibration 35-40 until after the beads. I think they cause a slight inbalance at slow speeds that can be felt. At highway speeds with the beads is the smoothest ride I've ridden to date.

He runs E3s. Should be the same for any brand tire for the valk (Metz, Avon, Dunlop, etc.). I don't know about the car tires, though.

I had my rims balanced 9 yrs ago and have never balanced a tire since. Never a problem. No vibration that I can tell. My tires wear as good as anyone's.

Been using dyna beads for over 2 years and am well satisfied. I reused them on the last tire change, but they are somewhat troublesome to fish out of the bottom of a tire so I weighed what I had and added enough to put 2 oz in the front and 3 oz in the rear of the new tires...JTL

I used the beads to get a LOT of extra miles out of my truck tires before replacement, 5oz/ea tire. A little common sense here for amounts. Bigger tire = larger possible weight compensation factors. If 3oz are needed in a normal rear tire, then I'd likely use 4oz in a larger car tire. If they are approximately the same, and made well, ( nearly balanced to begin with ) then stick with three. I lucked out when I ordered my 5lb package, UPS delivered a busted box that leaked little balls all over. I turned it in and got a new shipment, while the old was declined for return. They were EVERYWHERE! - and I agree that it IS possible to reuse them, but NOT that easy to get out cleanly!

I had ordered and received mine from Quackenbush Company in Crystal Lake, IL.
An earlier link from last summer had the information on who to call for the orders. 5# "trials" were sold and were a very good deal. After shipping I thought it ended up being less than $70. These are a uniform average size 1mm ball if I remember correctly. -and YES they do bounce!

Thanks Robert, I've sent Quackenbush an email for a quote for 5#. Their reply: "The beads they are buying are our QBZ-58A, which is made of zirconium silicate. ZY beads are made of yttrium stabilized zirconia, and they cost a lot more. We can offer our 0.8-1.0 mm QBZ-58A for the price of $60.00 per quart. A quart contains a little over 5 lbs. We have the beads (QZ-58A) in stock." I put 400 miles on my new E3 Dunlops today and the tires/balance with the beads is smooth as any I've ever felt. I'm going to buy a quart after I return from InZane next week. Bon From another thread.

I was very sceptical about using Dynabeads but after researching here and balancing many tires the old way many times, I finally went with Dynabeads last year. I feel they are great, want to say perfect. I put them in my new front tire last year and it (Cobra) is wearing perfectly. I pulled the weights of my 1 year used rear tire (VenomR) & also put the beads in. The rear tire was already cupped a little (as usual) now it truely is smoothing out. I'm just jodging the Dynabeads now by how well and even the tires will wear, they are balanced very well.

Just mounted F&R last night and "recycled" my beads. Easy way to get them out: Clean a spot ion the inside of the tire about 2" wida all the way across. Get a regular postal envelope, open the flap and stick some duct tape to it. Stick the tape on the clean spot inside the tire and open the envelope. Roll the tire to bring the envelope to the bottom and continue around. Most of the little critters will roll right into the envelope. Tap the outside and the rest jump right in! You can weigh the envelope and add as necessary, in case you lost a few. Empty the contents of the envelope into the new tire once you get the botton bead on the rim. Mount the top bead and you're good to go!
