Took the Dragon out for its first ride of the season. Been running it off and on for the past few weeks waiting for the last of the snow to clear the driveway. Took a short run to clear the cobwebs out of both of us. Left Boyne City Michigan and headed towards Charlevoix (about 20 miles). Drove straight through town. The "bridge" was not up when I passed over the Round lake channel. In the summer it's up every 1/2 hr to let the tall mast sailboats and the Beaver island Ferry move from Round Lake into Lake Michigan. Not many people in town this time of year. Turned out of Charlevoix on M66 S. and headed towards East Jordan (12 miles). Beautiful run along the south arm of Lake Charlevoix. Took M32 out of EJ over to Us131 S. Wanted to get a few twisties in the ride before heading back home. Came out just south of Boyne Falls (home to Boyne Mountain resort). Turned left at Boyne Falls (M-75 S.) and headed back home - just outside of Boyne City.
Just a side note. When I was on M-32 out of East Jordan I pulled over on the shoulder to check my cell phone for messges (expecting a call from my daughter). There was a guy behind me when I pulled over and he slowed down when he came by to check if everything was OK or did I need help. I waved him on. The next thing was a guy in a pickup who was out of sight behind me when I pulled over. He came up behind me on the far inside of the shoulder and stopped and asked me if everything was OK or did I need help.
I had two people offer help in 3 minutes. That's an example of the good people all you Inzaner's will meet in Nothern Michigan. See you there.
