Let's try this again... Our ride this month will begin in McKinney and take mostly backroads in a generally northeast direction. Bring your passport because we'll start with Mexican breakfast, ride past Bugtussle on our way to Paris, and pass through Reno and Detroit before we reach our Italian lunch destination in historic downtown Clarksville. We'll meet Daniel Meyer (and anyone else who shows up!) for lunch and then take tours of both the building on the square and The Old Vic he and the missus have purchased and are restoring. Depending on where you need to return to, we can either hightail it back across 82 to Bonham and head south on 121 to I-75 in McKinney, or head south out of Paris toward Commerce and pick up I-30 in Greenville. The route from McKinney to Clarksville is about 125 miles and calculates to take 2:40 with no stops. We'll stop in Bugtussle for pictures, but there are no formal facilities there. If we have to make a fuel / pit stop before Clarksville, we'll have to make it quick because the restaurant closes at 2:00 on Sundays. Meetup: 8:30am - 9:00am Taco Cabana in the southwest quadrant of 380 (University) & I-75 2005 W University Drive McKinney, TX 75070 972 562 8865 KSU with full tanks: 9:30am Lunch: by 12:30pm The Italian Bistro 106 North Walnut Clarksville, Texas 903 427-5997 http://www.red-river.net/italianBistro.htmLet's get a headcount working. I'm 1.

Guess I'll miss this one. Gotta take my dad to see the Mayan ruins. Have to ride this big ol boat to get there. I hear the food is awful and the entertainment not so good. But I can make sacrifices I suppose. You guys ride safe. I promise I'm gonna ride with you again some day. L

If you don't mind a couple of new face jumping in at the last minute, sounds like a great way to spend Sunday for us. Just bought my Standard last Sunday, and was looking for a good excuse to ride somewhere...can't imagine any better trip than riding with and meeting other Valk riders.

OK, this is a bit of an experiment. Let me know what you think. I've been using MapQuest for years, but recently was introduced to Moto Where. After a few false starts (instructions, I don't need no...) it was pretty straightforward to use. Go to http://www.motowhere.com/ and search for DFW VRCC. It should produce one hit - DFW VRCC McKinney to Clarksville 1. Click on it to see Sunday's route. Don't freak. It's in kilometers. Couldn't find where to change to miles.

When you start setting up a route, you have an option to do it in miles or kilometers. Kilometers is the default. In the upper right side of the point setup are the buttons to change it to miles. I just created one for my trip to the meeting point and it shows 50.3 miles.

If you sign up, you can also change the trip to miles as the option to do so appears in a pop up box. Nice app. Tried looking for other routes and so far found a few Harley routes that go 30 miles and hit 15 bars along the way.

What a fun ride. This was the first ride Mary was able to go on with me in over six months. It was fun seeing everyone and meeting some more new folks. Mary says hey also and she hopes to see y'all again in the future. Only one u-turn; not bad Dave.

Y'all sure had nice weather for for the ride!
Sorry I missed it but I flew my youngest son down for his birthday and we spent it with his older brother in some combination of Lawton and OKC. Blues bar in OKC Friday night (cigars, blues, & booze), shooting range at Ft Sill yesterday, UFC PPV fights last night (Oldest has a friend from high school who is the number two-ranked welterweight and he won last night.) So, I missed the ride, but had a lot of good male bonding time with my boys.

Well the ride over to Clarksville was a little chilly and cloudy but short for us, so not bad, but the warm welcome from you guys more than made up for it. Really enjoyed meeting all of you, plus the best looking bunch of bikes I've seen all day . Trip home was short but nice and sunny. Looking forward to the next get together or ride we can join y'all on. Thanks for letting us join ya ..

I can not believe the photos are not posted yet! I googled Old Vic Wanderer Grass Stain and nothang. What's with that?
329 mile day. Old River Channel and the South Sulfur were flooded out below Cooper Lake at Hwy 71 just east of Commerce. I wandered why I was the only one using that road. The kids in Sulphur Bluff were holding an imaginary line taught across the road ala street mime style just like the last time I rode thru there a couple of years back. They must take shifts? I had to cancel the ABS in order to slide in under it, but they got a real kick out of it!
Great surprise meeting Honey and her entourage! Missed hugs and such. Thought you guys would be at The Meyer's place. Thanks for joining in the fun Mr/Mrs Timbo.
Good folks, food (great rolls) and fun. ~Jeff

GREAT RIDE! Even saw a little sun during the day. Daniel's project is WAY more than I would ever consider but then I have three hands when it comes to working with carpenter tools. Thanks for the invite and tour. Oh, and so not to dissappoint Wanderer . . here he is with a live demonstration on the proper way to upright your ride by yourself if you happen to go down.

I REALLY am sorry I missed this ride as I had been looking forward to getting out with the group after so long. I washed SilverValk and had her ready to go, but as said before, had to help out my sons. But, as it turned out, my younger son left his wallet here so I had to go to Hillsboro to take his wallet to him. And that's when I got my little 140 mile ride in. So at least I got to ride a while, even if it was all superslab.
Looking forward to the next event.
