Last summer I drilled front & rear baffles This spring I did a desmog ,new intake O-rings & set pilots out to 2 i/4 turns Had some popping last year I did all this & still have some popping at idle & decel I've been over eveything 3 times in 200 miles Would this popping be coming from the drilled baffles?

I'd say you have a vaccum leak somewhere... and, are your exhaust manifold nuts snugged up? Another thought... since you drilled out the front baffles too... you may need to shim the needles to enrichen it a little more than just the fattening of the slow circuits.

Synchronizing the carburetors should take care of some of that.
Yeah, "drilling the baffles" definitely changes the exhaust dynamic and can be reason for a bit of the noise.
You could probably go back to the stock trigger wheel and get a little relief also.
It's not bad, learning to live with it is easy enough.
