Greetings fellow Valkoholics!  My name is Jim, living in the great state of Tennessee, and I go by "JimL".  Like most of you guys I started riding when I was in my teens.  Like most teens I was stupid, fearless and immortal (stupid being the biggest ingredient)!  Fortunate for me, I realized that unlike the "Highlander", I was not immortal at the early age of 16 when I nearly totaled my brothers bike while balancing a case of beer I had just gotten from the bootlegger (it was dry in eastern KY during those days)!  I quit riding after that mishap on my brothers bike and the realization that....yes....it is possible to get killed on these things.

Fast forward my brothers and sisters drew straws to see who went to college, I lost and had to go (I am joking...sort of).  Anyway I ended up working for one of Honda's competition (Nissan Corporation).  I was always interested in what vehicles Honda produced, but early in this decade I finally could not ignore that flat-6 boxer Honda had installed on the Valkyrie.  I kept reminding myself for 6 more years of that mishap on my brothers bike when I was 16 years of age....but the argument with myself had actually been lost probably the second time I saw one at the dealer.  I broke down and bought a used one in 2005 and have never regretted it.

I had the foresight to teach my son at an eary age to ride responsibly, and never trust that the guy in the car is paying attention to what he is doing!  I bought him a 750 Aero when he was 15, and that is what he learned on.  After him sneaking my Valk out numerous times when I was on travel; I figured it was time I sold the Aero and get another Valk....clearly my son was hooked.

This is a great site.  I enjoy reading the articles and look forward to seeing you guys on the road!

Mitch here I was on the old sight four years went by my 1st name Byron. I ride a 99” Interstate. My wife and I live and ride the West Texas area, live west of Ropesville on a mile and a quarter of gravel road.
That will sharpen your balancing skills. A good weekender is going to Ruidoso NM. And riding the mountains since it’s so flat here.

Hi all my name is Gordon Woods and I'm from Adelaide in South Australia. I have a 2001 blue and white standard that I purchased 2nd hand at xmas 2001.
If Rainmaker could get over here to organise a ride it would be good as we have a pretty serious lack of water around here. In the good times we average about 20inches a year.

G'day. Scott from Queensland, Australia. 2000 Interstate since 05.

On the old board(s) I went by the name of Nicho, and mostly looked and posted in the Tech board. Good to see another Aussie in here.

Hello all. DAve here aka"Dogg". been a vrcc member for a few years I guess. not much on posting, had a run while unemplyed but, now back to work!! I live on the shores of Md. paradise I call it. Bought my 01 standard new in sept. of 01. I have had others but, always back to the valk. Now, since I hae made mine so uncomfortable to ride, I am looking to add a tourer to the stable. eventually anyway. Hope to meet everyone soon. I am hoping to make a showing at the blue/grey ride tho, I might not keep up in the twisties Smiley

I guess I am a new member.  Since I got married I go half as fast as I used to. Cry  But life is much better now. cooldude  You might not recognize that other guy. 2funny  But, since she is shorter and cannot see the speedometer, and since I convinced her the Tach is the speedometer, it ain't all bad.   Grin  Life is good.
