Not much to it Pull the speaker covers and you will find four phillips screws that hold the trim piece on and remove it and under it will be 4 8mm bolts holding the windshield on take yours off put the new one on and you are done   cooldude cooldude put it back together..

And be prepared for the dreaded fairing nut spinning.  Have your JB weld or glue of your choice handy.  Lots of info on this in the archives.  Shouldn't be hard at all.  I have a windshield to install also.

Those little brass nuts/threaded sockets will spin in the plastic if they were tightened too much when put on last.  I JB Welded mine back in, put antisieze on the screws, and put rubber o-rings on the screws to make sure that I could easily take it apart the next time.  I replaced my headlights and some dash lights that had burnt out at the same time I put on the new windshield.

Good Luck,

If you get all those trim screws out without spinning the brass inserts in the plastic, you'll be the first.  If they begin to spin, don't just keep turning them, you'll just wallow the hole out more.  Pull firmly and steadily on the plastic while turning the screw to just pull the insert completely out.  Then use a pair if pliers to hold it and get the screw out.  They can be epoxied back in easily (or JB Weld).  Be sure to put some antiseize on the threads upon reassembly to avoid future problems.

This web site has a wealth of info: http://www.stolaf.edu/people/marshall/fairing.htm

There are rubber grommets on the four bolts holding the windshield.  The thick side of the grommet goes under the windshield.

Make a mental note of the angle the screws as you're taking them out.  It is easy to get them cross threaded going back together if you line them up the way it "looks" like they should go.

Thanks guys,

Got the shield today (&Jurock Plastics) and installed it, looks great, a wee bit different from stock, but I think it looks great.  cooldude Grin
