I am thinking about spray painting the header area on my Cobras after I got the price to get it done with Ceramic.  A couple friends of mine say they have done it with high temp black and it came out fine.  Looking for other opinions.

Same project.  I was planning on getting them ceramic coated until I got the quote.  A little steep right now.

SmokinJoe painted the headers on one set of this Cobras. He seems happy with the results. Do a search of his posts and you will find some recent info. He probably won't post on this thread since he is currently in the hospital.

I called a guy that does Hi Temp powder coating.  Much cheaper than Ceramic.  He said his Hi Temp powder coating is good for up to 1200 degrees.  So, how hot do the Cobra headers get on a Valk?

I had a look at Joe's headers at last week's ride... they looked fine, for black headers,
to me.

Me and Bonnie like chrome headers

Just the header area was $230 for black ceramic.  For the whole pipe front to back in black was $165 each or $330 total.

Each one of my headers were throwing off 210 degrees when measured with a Digital thermometer.
