Decided to go with a car tire after researching it and doing a lot of reading.Went with the goodyear triple track because that seems to be the popular tire to go with. But when I was having the tire mounted the guy was saying that I might have a hard time getting a inspection sticker because its not a motorcycle tire!Ive got to admit that I didnt think of this beforehand and I never saw it brought up in al the articles Ive read about the subject. Can anybody chime in and give me their experiences on this subject. The guy was saying I might be able to go to our local customs shop that gives stickers and he might be a little more easier.Any responces will be appreciated. police

If by local Custom Shop you mean a motorcycle shop I think thats the last place I would go.
I would think a place that sales motorcycle tires would be the only place that would turn
you down on the inspection sticker.

We don't have inspections here, but are the inspectors able to determine what is the correct tire on any vehicle, much less a motorcycle? God help us if the try.

I went to a RV dealership last time. The guy honked the horn, flashed the brake light, and stuck on the inspection sticker. That was it.

Just keep your mouth shut about it at the inspection station.

They used to have a law so to speak, that you couldn't run a non stock muffler on your car here.   We had 2 inpections a year.    I had put a glass pac on my stove bolt Chevy.  Went through inspections 7 times when in high school, I went in the service and mom took the car through inspection so she could drive it.  It was due when I left.

She said something about the muffler after he had stuck the sticker on.  He looked underneath, saw it was a non stock and scraped the sticker off.  Made her go get a new muffler put on it.    The rejection slip said muffler, so she had to do it or park it.    God was she peesed.   Told her next time to shut her mouth and pay the fee and go on.   So, it pays at times to keep your pie hole shut....

I don't take the bike to the local Ducati dealer. They sort of hassle me on the DOT knobbies on my KLR 650. (Not sportbike rubber, I suppose.) A car tire would have them spit up a knee puck. Took the Valkyrie to the local Yamaha dealer. They laughed, asked how it handles, and stickered the bike.  Grin
