Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.
I went to the hospital yesterday afternoon and went into the ICU room to see Paul and his wife Dayle. Paul was not on the ride but Dayle was. She was in terrible shape and they were just keeping her alive till her brother got there. I sat with Paul for 1/2hour...........all  we could do was cry. I didn't know what to say to him. He held my hand as we looked at Dayle just laying there. I do not have the words to describe how I felt. Paul was not doing well but there was nothing I could do except be there for him. Dayle has passed away and I will always remember her smile and laugh. She was a fantistic woman and she made Pauls life very happy and full of joy. I thank you all again for thoughts and prayers. There are some rides coming up on the Kruizes board and I am scheduling to attend. Not all are out of the woods yet, keep the prayers coming.
Dayle I will always remember you, you will always be in my thoughts and prayers, be with us when we ride and in time we will all see each other again.
Dear Lord watch over Dayle, I know she is safe now and in your hands.
AMEN!!!!

Western,

I read the story that was in your first post about this that someone attached and I read it last night and they had updated the story to say that Dayle had passed away.  As you mentioned sitting with Paul at the hospital and couldn't think of any words to tell him.  I find myself in that place right now for you.

What a very tragic story but as you said we can only let them live on in our thoughts and memories.  And one day "Lord willing" we too will join Dayle and all our loved ones in heaven.  Days ahead will be tough at times but just remember God gives us the strength to make it through today not next week but for today.  May you and all the family find comfort in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we are family here... Keep us posted on the services maybe some of your vrcc family can make it... Let us know..

The sadness of this incident is too much to comprehend.  As others said, so glad you could be with your friend.

This is one dangerous lifestyle we have all chosen...everybody be careful out there.

As I said in another posting, I usually stay away from large group rides but if they hold one in memory/as a benefit for these people I will make an exception.  Please keep us informed.

When one is scheduled I will post it. There is talk already but no date has been set. They did have a ride last Sat. morning that ended up out at the Roadrunner Bar and Grill, that was the clubs home bar. I did not ride with the group that went but did ride up there on my own. It was a huge turnout and some one donated a HD sportster that they were raffeling off. There was a huge cardboard poster where lots of pics were attached of all the riders that day. They left lots of room to sign and say a little something. The crowd was mostly upbeat but the sadness in the air was very thick. The support you all have shown me is just GREAT! Thanks, I needed to read the words from you all. I am channeling all your posts through to Paul. He sends his thank yous to you all. I talked with him on Sat. and he told me 'Chuck, Dayle does not want us to cry anymore, we did enough of that on Fri.' I told him that I agreed and promissed not to any more.

Chuck, it's a horrible and sad thing that happened.  My heart is grieved and I wasn't even directly connected to any of the victims.

Tell Paul to let the tears flow until they dry of their own accord.  Bad clouds hang over us when we don't complete the grieving process.
