I took my first carb top off to replace my springs with I/S springs and discovered springs that did not look stock.

The springs that are in my carbs are about 3/4" longer than I/S springs and they have more turns per inch than standard springs.

Any ideas?

I think I am gonna leave them alone.  What are your thoughts.

  Are you the only owner?
And has your bike always had stock exhaust?
The reason I ask is I was thinking maybe someone
else has changed them from some sort of kit.

2nd owner.

Cobra exhaust.

I know they have been changed but to what is the question and should I keep what is in it or install the I/S springs.

The springs are part of the cobra jet kit ! I have them in mine. I would leave them alone, unless broke ? If it an't broke don't fix it !!!!!!!!!! Needles are different also!

Cobra sells a jet kit. I don't know if it includes springs but you may be able to find a picture of the contents of the kit if you check their web site or search.
On the other hand it's easy enough to change them and see if you like the results, the I/S springs are not expensive. My theory has been that the I/S springs are designed to work with the I/S ICM.

Great, in they stay.  That is 1 less thing for me to do.

Now all I need to do is re-assemble and sync the carbs.

I built a home brew manometer like someone else had posted and it is itching to be hooked up.
