I just purchased the Nautilus horn and am having trouble mounting it on the bike (tourer).  I reviewed the threads here on mounting and found some good locations, but no specifics on how it was mounted.  I want to mount below the fuel petcock, but after looking at the new horn I find it has only one mounting bolt. Is that enough to keep it tight?  It looks like one bolt would come loose after time from road vibration.  Can someone give me advice on how to mount this securely?  Thanks

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I decided to mount it underneath the swing arm and attach it to the "Lift Adapter" I purchased a while back.  Also, to keep it from rotating (the horn) I'm going to use a piece of aluminum angle (1/2"x 3/4") and mount that to the rear of the adaptor that will go over the top of the horn mounting tab. Kinda hard to explain it without pics but if this suits your interest I could prolly post some pics.

I mounted mine below and behind the fuel petcock with a piece of  1" aluminum angle about 2" long using one bolt to the bike and one to the horn.  Put a small drop of lock tight on each bolt and it will be fine.

I mounted my Nautilus next to the petcock position. I started with a flat, metal, electrical box lid (dirt cheap) and cut out an "L" shaped piece and drilled 2 holes in it. One hole is for the horn stud and the other is for a convenient bolt on the engine hanger. I painted the bracket black, but it can't be seen as it's behind the horn. The horn hasn't moved yet.

Brett,

I've mounted my Stebel in the location you want to.  I used a piece of 1"x3"x3/8" steel bar.  Drilled each end for a 5/16ths bolt and painted it black.  Then I drilled and tapped the unused front lower hole on the left engine mount to handle a 5/16-18 bolt.  I used 5/16-18 X 1" flanged bolt to mount the steel bar to the engine hanger.

The one bolt will hold it just fine. Mine's been under the swingarm for over 3 years in all kinds of weather. I have the charcoal canister so I pop riveted it to the plate on the swingarm. Got an angle bracket at ACE and drilled another hole for the mount.

I mounted mine just behind the ignition switch. Just a strip of aluminum with two holes, attached to one of the ignition bolts.

Excuse the cellphone pic quality...

Mine is under the air box. After the desmog there is enough room. I did not want to see it.

That depends on whether you want black or chrome.  Here's a black one ....

This is the one I bought.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stebel-Nautilus-Compact-Motorcycle-Air-Horn-Chrome_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45f1807ef5QQitemZ300404473589QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories  These guys include a mounting bolt that includes a locking bolt so the mounting bolt doesn't vibrate loose.

I whipped up a mount from a piece of aluminum, used the existing mounting hole but moved the horn over about 3 inches to make sure the front fended had plenty of clearance.  The barely visible blue object is the relay used for the hot lead to the battery.  The normal horn lead is used to energize the relay to honk the horn.  Gives a good low resistance path from the battery to the horn for maximum toot power.  Just a hint, the auto salvage yards are a great source of high quality, high amp relays and at almost no cost. Also, amp rating and pin configuration is printed right on most of the relays.
Sorry about the gungy pics....got caught in the rain and I live in a agriculture area.....bugs!

I put a pingle tank valve on, removed the old petcock and mounted the horn, a wolo chrome, in it's place.  I still have room to reach the valve behind the horn. hoser  cooldude

The engines don't but the suspension does according to the road surface.  For the same price I would rather have the added peace of mind.
