I started smoking when I was 14 - 15 years. In the last 15 years I have smoked at least 20 cigarettes per day. 20 cigarettes per day for 36 years ... it is about. 263 000 cigarettes in total.

I failed at first attempt, but I quit smoking again 20 November 2010. Now it is permanently

Just curious.....how many that quit because of this thread are still quitters?????
I became a quitter June 3, 2009 @ 09:56am  1year 9 months and Serk will have to figure out the rest for me...I feel soooo much better....

I had to guess that you were a pack a day smoker (20 smokes a day), but... Here's your banner... I also used a nice round $3 a pack for the cost.

If you want help getting that into your signature lemme know and I'll be happy to help ya' get it done...

And yeah, still a quitter, although I got REAL close last fall with everything going on in my life, but the news that I'm gonna be the daddy to triplets was the proverbial nail in the coffin of me EVER smoking again! I've got too much to live for, and wanna see them grow up!

I quit cold turkey on October 8, 2009.  Tried patches and pills prior to that and could not quit.
Now I hope its over. Smoked for over 40 years

rehab is for quiters.

I'm glad alot of you are kicking a hard hard habit to break. my mom died of heart disease made much worse by smoking. shortened her life so much that she hasn't gotten to know her latest grand baby.

now I've never smoked except the secong hand I used to get at home, but what I need to do is go get some exercise. trucking is hard on your health.

Yes, unfortunately there are still many smokers in Norway.
The number has probably declined in recent years because of the extremely high taxes on cigarettes, but also because of laws that restrict where it's legal to smoke.

My hat is off to each and every one of you that kicked this nasty disgusting costly habit. Not making excuses here at all-but i grew up with yul bryner john wayne and some damn good looking young ladies tellin us all that smoking was cool. And like a big idiot-i fell for it. Thinking back that very first smoke was trying to tell me something. Think about it for a minute-didn't taste good-kinda choked a lot-brought tears to my eyes-but muddeled on. learned how to smoke againest my bodys better judgement. I was 13. Fast forward couple of years-navy boot camp-feb 1964-i was 19. They took our smokes away for 5 or 6 days. That first smoke after the enforced no smoking-well it was talking to me again!! Again i ignored my own body. fast forward to April 20 2002. With the help of my LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST i went from 4 packs a day to none on this day. He did help me cause i know i ainn't that strong. MY ONLY REGRET not listening to my own body when i was 13. It was telling me that this stuff wasn't any damn good for me. I'm not crying the blues here-all this was self inflicted. I'm loaded up with C.O.P.D. I have limited endurance on the really physical tasks-i take lotsaq breaks and watch what i do. Do not feel sorry for me-it was self inflicted. If your thinking of starting DON'T if your thinking of quitting PLEASE DO YOU WON'T BE SORRY. God blees all of you. RIDE SAFE

I'm still a non-smoker, FB.  Next Sunday will be two years for me.

I smoked a cigar and maybe 5 or 6 cigarettes when my daughter got married last June, and one cigarette on New Year's Eve.  Sure did taste good to me and I still miss 'em (sometimes even dream about smoking).  That said, I still consider myself a quitter.
