air box install

Can anyone tell me how far the air box tubes fit on the carb. tops. Don't remember how it was when I removed it. There is a ridge on the carb. tops, does this ridge mean stop or does that hold it in place on the inside of the tube. A pic would be very helpful.

I THINK the boots are supposed to fit down snug to the "lip" on the carb. That said, my boots slid up a bit, especially on the front, the two times I have had my box out.

I slid the boots down to the ridge on the carbs, but alittle push with the finger and they pop off. Clamps are tight , thats what makes me think they go all the way down. Could look at another bike but i'm a lone ranger with the valk around here.

The rubber boots are indexed so as to assure they are properly installed.
The clamps are piloted so they are in the proper relationship to the rubber boots when tightening.
You need to look at them and you'll see what I am talking about.
