Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti , the United States rushed in to help - with money, medicine, and manpower. To date, we've provided over $179 million in humanitarian aid... but Barack Obama has just ordered all U.S. installations to take down their American flags lest we be seen as an "occupying army" rather than "international partners."

It is patently appalling that a president of the United States would consider our flag to be a symbol of militaristic takeovers and colonialism, especially when serving (to a greater degree than any other nation on Earth a humanitarian purpose.

 

Additionally, who would think anyone would want to occupy Haiti ?

No other country giving aid in Haiti has lowered its flag.

But then again, no other country has a leader offended by his country's flag

it just goes to show how stupid the guy is.

the american army held up the US flag as they marched into my fathers town in italy during WW2.  what that did to the people in that town was to give them hope.  the united states was a country that others wanted to model because we were successful.

remember, michell obama never was proud of america, until she got into the white house.

went to truthorfiction.com and checked this out.
It is true. However, there is an article quoted from the Navy Times, if I remember correctly. The article gives some reasoning and comment from forces on the ground in Haiti and it does not seem to be a big deal to them.
Like one Delta Force guy said, "we have the flag on our uniform".
Am not defending the Pres- but this is not a serious enough issue to get my shorts in a wad.
I'll direct my anger at all the rest of his policies that are ruining this country and work to stop them-the list is long.

Not a big issue in, and of, itself.....but when added to his other nonsense like apologizing to the world for the US's actions over the years (instead of yelling of it's great accomplishments and humanitarian efforts over the last hundred years), not allowing us to say we want to WIN a war, etc. ...... it just demonstrates that he doesn't love this country as the President of the United States of America should.  He views this country as oppressive and racist.  Even though, as a guy who grew up in Hawaii and went to Harvard, he's probably never experienced an ounce of racism in his charmed life.

Like I said - a long list.
Probably his attitude toward this country is at the top of the list, mine anyway.

I concede that there could be reasons to not display the colors, but people thinking we are invading is not one of them.  Any embassy property or occupied bases should fly the flag.  If we are just distributing life saving supplies paid for by the tax payers of the USA, no need to have the flag flying, but some how, I just believe this is just one more way he can bad mouth the country I love, and the government I have recently come to detest.  They don't represent me!

Thank God for the citizens that are willing to serve and defend the constitution of the US.  Too bad the politicians won't do it, but steal the fruits of our labor.
