If you buy an Avon Venom, Venom R, or a Cobra between Apr 4- May 31; there's a $25 rebate per tire. Limit 2 tires. The rebate comes as a MasterCard gift card. Dealers have the rebate coupon. Check your local supplier.

Yup!  I just ordered a new front Avon from the jakewilson site posted in another thread.  $148 for the tire...I added some Mothers polish to get over $150, entered in the JW009 coupon code for $20 discount...and will send in the Avon rebate for a final price of about $110 including the polish and FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!  cooldude  Not bad considering HDL wants $190 for the same tire.  They will match prices though...but I'm not sure they'll match the JW009 coupon code for the discount.

To quote(sorta) one of our more famous members; "I wouldn't put another one of those front end hoppin', contact patch squirmin' Avons on my bike if they gave 'em to me & paid for the mounting & balancing. If ya get a good set, they're fine but I don't have time in my life to put up with their shoddy quality control.

I'm surprised to read this as I have had 0 problems with Avons in 120,000 miles of usage. I've tried 1 set of Metzlers, cupped, badly; 1 set of dunlops, the originals, very poor life, bad enough that I'm not sure I can try the Elite 3's; 1 bridgestone, poor life, cupped.

I love my Avons. The worst problem I've ever had with them is my current set required more weight to balance than usual, but still manageable. I've used the Venoms and the Cobra's.

I always thought he was talking about the Dunlops??  I had the E3 and had no problems, but I like the Avons better.

Bob E: yeah, he is talkin' about the E III's. That's why I said I was "sorta" quoting. Just changed the tire brand to fit my situation. Take away the originals and all 3 sets of my Dunlops have performed great. That's 2 sets of 206 Elites and 1 set of E 3's. I did have one good set of Avons, replaced them with another & couldn't get them off the Valk soon enough. My dealer exchanged them "even up" for any tire of my choice.

About 90K miles on Venoms and now a Cobra. Not a bad one yet and great handling.

Sweet, I was planning to pick up my 5th set since having my Valks. I wouldn't use anything else and you can't beat a $50 discount. Avons have never been a problem for me and I do occasionally exceed the posted limits.  Wink
