Tried the search thing but no luck. I know someone will be able to look it up and have it here before I can get the meat thawed and I'd be grateful. The wife asked, "burgers" and my response was if I could find Timberwolf's recipe. Been looking, hunger pains are setting in. Help please.

....sorry Stormrider, didnt see your post until Chili told me about it...first off I wouldnt use frozen meat...fresh is MUCH better...but thats just me....I use ground chuck 80/20 fat ratio...good burger has to have fat in it..and I make em BIG hence the name...BAB...Big Azz Burger...between 1/2 to 3/4 lb patties....fresh ground pepper and "lite" garlic salt on em...I am also a firm believer that a "great burger" has to be...medium rare.."on the rare side"...be sure to have a nice bed of glowing coals ...DO NOT USE GAS ! .....get yourself some Apple Wood Chips at any BBQ section of a store....soak em in water for an hour or two..... reason I use chuck is it has a great flavor for burgers....throw some of them apple wood chips on the coals and close the lid...cook em the way ya like em...like I said..Im a medium rare guy....far as toppings...thats personal choice also...I find most people dig....portabello mushrooms..I sautee mine in olive oil with a good amount of fresh ground pepper and garlic salt....vadallia onions (or any sweet onion)...again sauteed and pepper/garlic salt...bacon....and last year I started using ..smoked mozzarella cheese...I buy a nice hunk in the cheese department and slice off nice 1/4 inch slices...and ofcourse lettuce and tomatoe....

....thats about it my friend....hope this helps ya out...sorry I was slow getting back to ya..  Cool

Just for kicks... one of these days... try a "Juicy Lucy".

That's a cheeseburger with the cheese on the INSIDE.  They are pretty good.  I have made quite a few now... and I essentially use saran wrap, 2 layers, to make the patty real thin then stuff it, then use a 2nd patty to cover the 1st.  Pinch the edges and grill like normal.

It's different, but very good.  It keeps the cheese all melty, while you're eating it.

Thanks Timber. Never loo late around here for a good recipe. We like firing up the grill. I'll try and post picks and taste results. On the frozen thing, we raise our own beef. Kinda hard to eat it all before it sours. I also have gotten to mixing some ground deer in with it. Also, I'll have the butcher grind some chuck next time. We usually make chuck roast.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.
