What does the SE, SF, SG grades mean for oil?

I changed oil in a '99 Kawaski 4whlr and the manual calls for one of these grades and I cannot find it anywhere on the bottle of the Quaker State SAE 10W-30 I used.  This is the same stuff I use in my cars.

Did I use the wrong stuff?

Drain that stuff imeditaly.

car oil that is energy saving , or has the SAE Star on the label can potetially cause you r clutch to

slip because like it says energy saving on the bottle.

Get the oil at 10w40 range and you won't have that problem.

Rotella T makes a 5w40 Synthetic that is very resonably priced and will not harm your clutch.

That is the problem part of our choice of oil you installed in your ATV.

Not a huge problem, but drain it and you should be fine , just stay away form the 5w30 and 10w30.

Even 20w50 in the hot months is a good choice but the simplest thing is to follow your

owners manual.

depends on the service rating of the stuff that you used..stay away from the "energy conserving" ones as they aren't meant to be used with wet clutches and will cause it to slip and lead to early failure......  info at attached links may be of interest to you....
