Just thought I would pass along that the exhaust was replaced March 27 and all the advice from the board was extremely helpful. My buddy, he's the real mechanic, and I spent a few hours crawling around the floor pulling the old exhaust and I am happy to say that not one stud was broken off in the header ... several came out but not one broke off. Of course I broke off another muffler hanger stud but hey ... all went well at the header. The only problem we had was on the left side ... had a fair amount of trouble getting the muffler stud in but finally got it. Seems that the rear saddle bag guard was in the way so we raised it just a wee bit, with the help of a jack, and that allowed the holes and studs to line up.

Again, thanks to all for your advice.
