I've had a what feels like a 3 foot screwdriver between my ribs and the  wall around my left lung since Monday evening. The doctor claims the vent tube isnt working and I need surgery first thing in the morning   :'(  I've been caged in this hospital room for 4 days now with only enough slack in the wires and tubes to make it to the restroom. The pain this tube has put me in is intense and the bad thing it will stay in for several days after surgery .You folks that will hook a brother up with a prayer I'm really having a dreadful feeling about this.

Consider yourself hooked up, Joe. Timbr n I are sending good thoughts your way.  angel

(Not a medical pro, of course, but if I were to hazard a guess as to the cause of your pain I'd lean toward an inflammation of the pleural lining. It's very painful but fixable so don't let yourself go to the dark side on this one.  Wink  )

You are a brother to me and I will be praying for comfort and complete healing for you. I am also praying for comfort and Peace for those loved ones that are concerned for you. If you want any of us down there with you, Joe, just say the word.  I will also share this request with other believers that I know.  God bless you and do as the medical professionals tell ya.

Consider Prayers Sent Joe.

I know it's tough not to worry.

Even though deep down I knew things would be OK I couldn't help but worry some before my heart surgery last year.

Things will be OK,

just hang in there and listen to the Dr's and Nurses. They really do know what they're talking about.

"Ginger" and I are looking forward to sharing some wind with you soon.

Joe,  our thoughts and prayers are with you, the family, and the medical staff.   Although pain bring us all down, especially in times like this, I found  that in my experiences, everything will turn out ok.

Think of riding the Dragon because you'll soon will be back on it and this will all be behind you.

I've seen what you are going through. The doctors have better procedures and better tools now. They will do a great job, and you will get better. Do what they say, and you will heal up. We plan on meeting you.

Hello Mr Smoking Joe , I have never met you but I  sure have heard alot of great and funny comments about you ,  all in good fun ....looking forward that I  will be able to meet you in person  on the road , I look forward to it so keep the faith , do what the good Dr's and the good looking nurses say to do and you'll be up and around sooner than you think because you have many good people pulling for you .... so keep on fighting and  because your too young to throw in the towel , RIGHT .... a lot of good thoughts and prayers going your way from Texas .... God knows I know what that word surgery means ( in the morning ) because I had both of my knees replaced in the summer of 2007 one after another and here I am .....Thanks Old Geezer Richard

Oh Pashaw dude.... Relax... you are gonna feel so much  better after this surgery is over that it won't even be funny. That knife is a scary thing, but it's the quickest thing to do in order to get better in a hurry. That vent tube works sometimes, but the knife works every time. I'll be pulling for you and know that you will be much better by the time you return from recovery. Then the next thing is to get off your back (and a$$) and move so that you don't get some infection or pneumonia from laying around in that hospital. You will be fine, you are young and strong and have a lot to get home to.

Best Wishes for a FULL and quick RECOVERY....

When they wheel you off to surgery, tell 'em "BRING IT, LET'S RIDE!"

By the way, those nurses are gonna try to look at your a$$ ;while you are walking around in that "backless" gown, so keep a close eye out.  Wink

That tube is not the cause of your pain, it is an inflammation inside the chest wall, been there done that and still have the firkin 'T' shirt, even thought it doesn't fit now.  Mom shrunk it or I might has grown some, I prefer to think the 1st one, shrunk it.

We be a thinkin on ya tomorrow during your surgery....  Prayers and thoughts will be forwarded till needed no longer from Iowa.
