Hey Serk, did you get cookies?

Sadly, no...

I went to the Dark Side, and all I got was improved contact patch size, improved traction, improved braking power, improved acceleration grip, less expensive tires, longer life tires, and a VRCCDS #, but no cookie... I feel ripped off!  Grin Cheesy Grin

I would like to thank Dark Lord for acknowledging my quiet existence as an adamant DS supporter.  I may not speak often or loudly (on here anyway... my husband will tell you that is DEFINITELY NOT true in real life Evil), but I just wanted to say that my husband (Gunslinger) and his best friend (Roadkill) have been DS for many many miles and years with not a single problem!  I am the most recent convert (as of our trek to InZane IX) and I love it.  Granted I have never ridden a Valk without one, but I did go from my 1100 Goldwing straight to the DS Valkyrie with no issues, discomfort or any real adjustment in riding styles.  I have had many instances where the increased stopping power has saved my kiester and for that I am grateful.

Thank you again.  Not real sure how I came to your attention and got my #, but I like it!  Now I just need to get my sticker. cooldude

Contact TJ for "Ofishal" Darkside decals.

Rumor has it that Rebel ne'ersayers have overun the Imperial Bakery, spiking the Darkside cookies with a Cayene pepper laxative to enhance the purported rumors of that  "flaming death" thingey.  This at a time when the Emporer is not on the throne.....  Cheesy   2funny

I too, am on the darkside with a Goodyear TT 205/60/16 with nearly 4000 miles passing under it. It is a true force for which to be reckoned.

I wish recognition in this fine and elite group as a darksider. The force is strong here.

And I bring a Cookie recipie. A true darkside recipie for it is said that this cookie is...
"A very dark, rich chocolate cookie for the true chocoholic. This recipe uses relatively little flour, resulting in dense, fudge-like cookies"

Ingredients
4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
6 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
In the microwave or in a metal bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt unsweetened chocolate, 1 cup of the chocolate chips, and the butter stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. In a large bowl, whip eggs and sugar until thick and pale, about 2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla and the chocolate mixture until well mixed. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually stir into the chocolate mixture. Fold in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips. Cover dough and chill for at least an hour or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets so they are 2 inches apart.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

We do have better cookies cause we make'em ourselves.
Enjoy

That shakes it. I'm crossing over for my next tire change, probably after this summer. What is the best choice if I don't want to mod the fender bolt brackets? And recommendations for brands?
Thanks. Can't wait.

Hard to say. On my '03 Std (RIP) I had a GTT 205-60 and did the nutcage. When I put
a GTT 205-60 on my '98 Std, I also had to do the fender bolt washer mod because it
rubbed significantly! Don't take long and don't hurt a thing. cooldude

Each bike is SLIGHTLY different in how wide you can go with out the cage nut mod. The first number on the tire is the width in millimeters ( 205,215,225 etc.. ). Because of tight clearances and slight differences, it may be a trial and error thing with out the mod. Maybe try a "185" 0r "195" tire ? The second number is aspect ratio...70,65,60. That number is a % . meaning that a 205/60/16 has an aspect ratio/side wall height that is 60% of 205mm and 215/65/16 would be 65% of 215mm.

I just did the nut mod job no questions asked. It was painless and simple. As for the tire, Yokohama 205/60R/16 92v http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&fromCompare1=yes&vehicleSearch=false&tireModel=AVID+ENVigor+%28H%26V%29&partnum=06VR6ENV This thing is awsome   cooldude

Some how giving into the Dark Side does not give me confidence that your Brain Pan is

Working Right.

I think I'll put motorcycle tires on my truck now.

Would that make the Truck a Dark Sider?

I thnk people who ride the same bikes all the time just get bored and are trying to be different.

That's my opinion and I am entitled to it.

I am enjoying the Darkside.. I didnt get a number or cookies but still enjoy all the benefits of the Darkside.. I got a General Altimax for mine it is a 205 60/16. I love how it rides, though it may also have something to do with stiffening the shocks in the process.. I feel more comfortable on it every time I ride.. I was hoping to add a pic of it on here but I dont know how to add a picture in the message..

Nobody is asking or telling you to change to a CT Al. Enjoy your choice and I'll enjoy mine. It's all good.  Smiley I didn't make the decision to switch on a whim, I watched and read post for almost 3 years and talked to those that did it before I did. I like what I picked and will ride it for now. I'm not saying I will never go back to a MC tire, so for now it's the CT for me.  Smiley
