I have a problem with my 99 interstate.  while riding down the road the engine will start cutting out and will finally die.  It is like it is running out of gas.  After it sits for a while it will start as usual.  It may choke down again and it may not.  It may run fine for a week then it will do it again.  I have had new fuel lines run, carbs reworked.  Don't know what else to do.  Any suggestions PLEASE

The next time it acts that way, open the gas cap. If you hear a woose as air enters the tsnk, you have a blocked tank vent tube, maybe kinked when the tank was removed and replaced.

It could be a vacuum leak as well, check the hose from Number 6 going to the petcock, if that isn't it then it's probably a leaking petcock. You can order a kit to repair the one you have. It is called a cover set. Good Luck!
