Explain "Partial" De-Smog

I just read another post about "Chirping" and they made reference to a "Partial" de-smog.

Can anyone please explain the difference between a partial and the full de-smog????

I will attempt to answer your question.  When I did my first de-smog, I used a kit (sold on the VRCC classifides) where yout put seals in the metal tubes and the exhaust cold air supplies.   You remove the vacum lines off the intakes, leaving #6 to petcock.  All the other hardward is left on the bike.  It seemed to do the trick, but left all the clutter.  The thought behind this method was you could always undo the de-smog.

Here's the pile of parts you get off your Valkyrie with a complete desmog.
The only thing I used over was the 3 bolt flange that bolts to the bottom of each head. I cut the tube about 1/2" from the flange, crimped it over & welded it shut then re-installed it as a plug. Everything comes off clean & reusable except the bottom side tubes. You could get them off cleanly but you would have to take the bike apart too far for me so I just rip them off kinda "backwoods style".
