Just received my DAJ system today, waiting for the smaller jets to show up tomorrow or the next day. Besides putting in smaller mains, do you have to do anything with the carb needles? I have stock needles right now. I am running on the lean side and need to turn out my pilots a bit as well as do something with the needles possibly, I will be putting in 95 mains when they show up. I see you pulled the whole carb bank out, prolly just easier doing that?

Also, any issues with the DAJ needles installing the airbox? Just wondering too if the DAJ needles are a bit long as they stick along way into the intake, or maybe that is not an issue?

You dont have to do anything with the carb needles.
Its a easy job to pull the whole carb bank out, and its much easyer to change the jets when its out. It will save you a lot of time.
The DAJ needles are delivered with the right length, not an issue.

Do you change the slow jets as well?

No, I have stock 35's so when I pull the carb bank I'll check where the pilots are at and turn them out a bit more. I think most suggest 2.25 turns out and see how that looks. I don't have a CO meter but am doing the old school plug check procedure.

Question: Thunder forgot to send along a cutting tool for putting the DAJ tubes in, do you need to cut a round hole or do you just basically poke a hole?

What is the purpose of DAJ's on the Valk? I've heard of them being used on 2-stroke snomobiles as altitude compensators.

Just a bit of a performance enhancement.

Here is my Dyno Chart after the DAJ install

Just a bit of a performance enhancement.
Better MPG, better HP, and if you ride cross-country with widely varying altitude - you have the ability to easily adjust your jetting and keep the MPG / performance where you want it.

Just another satisfied customer.  cooldude

All good stuff! I run a 4 deg TW with a K&N and drilled rear baffles on a 2000IS. I found the TW really helped but currently am running a bit lean especially in the mid and upper RPM's. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the DAJ will do with some additional fine tuning. You going to be at Inzane?

I forgot a few other good things - faster throttle response, and no more bike dying when you're running in 5th and roll on the throttle to pass someone.
