RJ,
About that foot race after our knee surgerys.  The rules have changed a little.  First one still standing as the front wheel of our oxygen carts cross the finish line. Winner gets the oxygen bottle with the most left in it. 2funny

They set me up with a big machine in the house with a 50' and a 25' hose.  Two small portable bottles to go mobile.  A big bottle good for a couple of days in case of a power failure.  Feels like a frikken leash already and its only beentwo days  Angry Sad Cry tickedoff

Don't know how dependent you are with the O2, but remember with the longer the supply tube the less you actually get. At 2 liters with 50' you might only get 1 liter, so you may need to increase flow.

Woody,   Cap-e-tan is very on target there.

Longer the hose, the more loss, but, they usually test you when they set you up.   I know they did me.

On my 40' hose in REST mode, I'm on 3.
On my 50' hose in REST mode, I'm on 4.

You wouldn't think that 10' of hose would make that much difference.

I found the best thing to strengthen my leg after surgery was the stationary bike, set up on heavier tension than they set it on at Therapy....     My leg would shake, shimmy, rattle and almost roll over when I got off of the bike.   Then my new truck has also made it stronger.   If my leg gives out, then I have to use a step stool to get in, it came w/20" wheels with the Hemi engine.   Those 20" make her hold the pavement a little better.....

My pulse tank, little carry on lasts 5 hours set on 4 liter.    3 at rest.

My roll tank is only good for about 2 hours, and is a bitch to pull along behind.

Saturday wife and I were getting the yard into the growing season.   She has to have it dethatched and the crap pulled up, went over again with the mower and sucked into collection bags.    I couldn't find a place to put my little tank so I tied the 2 wheel 2 hour tank on the back of the tractor & pulled it along behind me.    She about crapped a solid concrete brick.........    Then after shooting her pie hole off and me setting there laughing at her, she got the joke of it.....

MOST important:

Follow the medical staffs orders, suggestions and requirements.
