East China Mi.

« on: April 09, 2010, 02:53:19 PM »

Hi to all on the site! My name is Larry Gill, I live in East China Mi. (North of Detroit) I don't have a Valkyrie (YET). Yesterday I sold my 1995 Aspencade and plan to purchase a Valkyrie shortly (this coming week).Actually I've had a banner week, on April 5th I traded my 1986 Aspencade for a 2005 Honda Shadow 750 Aero  even up! The Shadow is going to my Bride of almost 30 years, Colleen. The reason I'm going to a Valkyrie is because I sustained a knee injury and I have trouble with support and the 'wing is so tall. The Valkyrie is a lot shorter in the seat area. BUT I didn't want to loose the BIG bike feel. So I just wanted to comment on the nice website and hope to gather some info about my future bike! Thanks, Larry (firea100)

Welcome!

Last year I sold my 1985 Wing and moved up to a 2000 I/S... best thing I ever did! Joined this club and got lots of great info and help when I had to rebuild it over the winter because of an accident.

Hope you find one soon... took me several months to find my new baby in the area.

Lots of other members in the area and hope to meet alot of them this summer.

The fun part is looking for the Bike.

Finding out you have a lot of helpful people eager to help.

Oh by the way are you a Standard Oil Man or Synthetic.

It's Important to get you started off right.

Are you Presbyterian or Babtist.

Repub.

or Dem.

Are you in or have you ever been to Tennessee.

Do you like Corn Bread or Biscuits.

What does the letters C S of A stand for.

thanks

Hey there, welcome! Smiley

I had to Google East China...I have lived in MI all but 7 years of my life and I had no idea where that was.  I am really surprised, as you are not far from Algonac, my parents favorite summer destination after my Dad retired.  I grew up in Wyandotte and am now way up here in Alpena.  Make sure you make it to InZane, and you will see more Valks in one place then you ever dreamed.  The first time I went, I called it the Disneyland for Valk owners.  Hope to meet you there!

Hi to all on the site! Wow what a great welcoming comittee you guys (and Gals) have! I think I've found a "Valk" last night. Man, after talking to, maybe, 15 very nice people, some from the site, some from Craigslist and yes even some from E-bay,I've finally found what I believe to be the best bike for the value and for me (us). It ended up coming from a fellow in Summerville Ga. that is on the site. The bike is a 1999- Yellow and Cream and appears to be meticulously maintained. I'm going to "fetch it" next weekend if all goes well. Now all of the questions will start about options/ add-ons and all of that! I know one of the first things I'm gonna want is a trailer hitch. I have a little trailer I liked to pull around with my 'Wing and I'd like to do the same with the Valk. Does anyone make a "receiver type" hitch for a Valk? This bike already has electronic cruise-control, my second want. What about a "factory" CB radio and pilot/ co-pilot communication system? Man, maybe I shoulda kept my 'Wing!! Well if there are any folks in the East China Mi. area, Post up a reply, I'd like to meet you. Thanks, Larry Gill in East China Mi.

Welcome to the VRCC a place that if you are not on your bike you might be here talking about it!!  2funny

Larry good to have you here and as much as we might have already heard similar questions from others it is an exciting time to get to relive those times with you.  Whether it is oil, fuel, carb synch'n, how to change a tire, etc.  You might find your answer by searching previous posts but don't be afraid of asking the question again.  It gives us all a chance to enjoy the moment again.
