"D"ville....Just West of HOTLANTA

« on: April 11, 2010, 09:02:24 PM »

SPEED LIMIT has been DROPPED to 55 on Interstate 20,from the Georgia/Alabama Line to Anniston.  This has been STRICTLY ENFORCED the last 2 week-ends.  Electronic Sign Warnings.  You travel for miles you may not SEE anything other than a Truck on a over pass. THEN BOOM...........10-15 State Troopers all lined up on an entrance ramp and 8-10 cars already pulled over.  I figure they be getting READY for the Big Talladega Race, the week-end before Cheaha...The MRS. has had to RELY on her Cruise Control the last two weeks traveling back and forth from Birmingham, to make sure she doesn't CONTRIBUTE to the ALABAMA the BEAUTIFUL FUND.  BE WARNED!!!!!!!! DON"T SHOW THEM THE MONEY.................SEE YA AT THE TOP!!!!!! ....................LORD WILLING

Speed limits aside, I'm thinking of heading down through Georgia east of Atlanta, and then heading over to Cheaha on
I20... I spent 10 hours in the rain getting to Cheaha through the North Georgia mountains last year, and 45 minutes
of HOLY CRAP coming home up I85 through the heart of Atlanta... I remember that I20 from Alabama to Atlanta was
quite tolerable... sound like a plan?

All I can say, Atlanta is a bummer. Except at late night. Gotta watch for drunks then but lots less loonies to dodge.
